Hello everyone.

We are planning to apply for permanent residence outland via Warsaw office and we have few things that are not very clear for us.

According to the checklist of Eastern Europe all residents of former USSR state have to submit a copy of the workbook. I am an Estonian (which is former USSR country) and have been working since 2008, but have never had a workbook, because from some time in the beginning of 2000s they are not mandatory anymore. Does it mean that applicants that don't have workbook don't have to provide workbook or do they have to provide other type of proof about working?

I am also a bit confused about the proof of education. Do I only have to submit a proof of my university studies if I graduated before the collapse of SSSR or after that as well, as I graduated from university 2011?

So if there is anyone that has applied through Warsaw or anyone that knows more about that subject can answer our questions, we'd be very grateful.

Hi kris,

For my Russian wife's application we included her school diploma, her nursing school diploma, and copies of some of her nursing relation certificates. We figured including all diplomas was better than just a university diploma, but having said that if you send just a university diploma, they will know you passed high school.

For the workbook her records went back years and dozens of jobs, she changed to a new book so that she wouldn't have to get dozens of pages notarized. You might have to contact CIC and ask them what to do if there's no workbook available, or maybe a note in the application explaining why there's no workbook would be acceptable. If you are currently working perhaps a note from your employer could be included.

Good luck.

Hi mcbeth,

thank you for your helping comment.

Did you send originals or copies of your wife's diplomas?

About the workbook I know only so much that they were used for quite long time, until the beginning of 2000s, after that they were not mandatory anymore, so vast majority of employers haven't used it since.

It was all photocopies with translated copies as well, the copies should be notarized as well.

I also don't believe Warsaw is processing anything in the 8 months that CIC says they are, so be prepared to wait. I'm talking to one person who's approaching 9 months through Warsaw, and he isn't able to get an answer from anyone about his application. I'd be surprised if they're actually doing anything over there right now, but they can hide behind their code of silence.

Is there a possibility that Warsaw office treats different countries differently? If it is not a secret then from what country is the person who you are talking to from?

Have you heard anything from Warsaw office after you recieved your AOR? Do you see your case online?

Hmmmm, I've heard from one person she got her approval in 4 months. She is from Poland, dont know how they treat different countries. In Polish guide we dont have all those diplomas and workbook requirements, maybe this changes some stuff?

Interesting.... have you received an email from CIC requesting a scanned copy of all pages of her passport?

It's not that Warsaw treats countries differently on purpose. It's a lot easier for the VO to communicate with the governmental organizations within Poland to perform all necessary checks on Polish applicants. When an applicant is from a different country, Warsaw must request and then wait for their government to do those same checks. Depending on the country and it's level of development, this can take extra time.
