Outland application sent to CIC - Now application for visitor status extension

Hi everybody

Our application was delivered to CPC - MISSISSAUGA on December 4th, 2015.
My visitor status expires on January 7th, 2015. Since i'm staying with my wife during the process i would like to extend my status.

Some info about me:
- I'm visa exempt, Israeli citizen.
- I came to Canada on January 13th, 2015, after 6 months i extended my stay for another 6 months (until January 7th, 2015).
- In the last 6 months we were planning or wedding, we got married in November, prepared the outland application and mailed it 3 days ago.
- We didn't use a representative, i read the guides and took care of the whole application.

As of today, the first step in the process takes 64 days and the second one (Tel-Aviv VO) takes 9 months. So we can say in the worst case scenario the process will take a year.
I read on this forum that i can extend my visitor status for another year while we are waiting in the process, so i have a few questions please:

1. On the form for the extension there was a question asking "how long are you planning to stay in Canada", and i have to indicate a specific date, what date am i expected to indicate, giving that i wanna stay till the process is finalized?
2. I have no airplane ticket because we are waiting in the process, should that affect the application?
3. I have to provide a proof of outland application that was sent to CIC, what kind of proof am i supposed to provide?

1. I put a year on my renewal application form. so you can put a year or year and half.

2. I don't think it would matter but I would write a letter.
ex: I would not have any problem to go back to home country and wait for my pr if necessary.
but I really like to stay with my family.
present you have enough fund to purchase plane ticket.

3. you can send photocopy of receipt of carrier service and any email from CIC that they have received your file.
or sponsor approval letter for your wife (if you would get before sending off renewal ) would be fine.

4. writing a cover letter would be helpful: briefly explain your situation like you did here : outland application is on processing, financial status and how you would be financially supported without working in Canada. (bank account, wife's pay stub (if she works etc)

I have another question please:
On the IMM5708 form, the third question, i'm supposed to indicate what i'm applying for, which one am i applying for in my case?
I'm visa exempt and on a legal visitor status, i got lost with the resident status and resident permit, like resident status is for visa exempt and resident permit is for other applicants?

1. I suggest asking for a year.

2. You don't need a plane ticket, won't be an issue.

3. Include the PR fee receipt.

On the IMM5708 form, the third question, i'm supposed to indicate what i'm applying for, which one am i applying for in my case?

Select "an extension of a temporary resident status".

When I just recently applied I requested a year and they gave me 2 years. I also attached my receipt of outland application, proof that I did my medical exam/background check

Oh and btw we still don't have our marriage certificate, it's ok to send the "Record of solemnization of marriage" right?
