Hi everyone, i just want to know people with the same situation. If so please join me, its a little confusing to apply by outland but you are currently living with your sponsor. Is there any success stories? or how did the process goes?
My VO is Manila
Application received by CPC-M Oct. 20, 2011
Sponsor Approved Jan. 3, 2012

My husband (American) applied outland while "living" in Canada as a visitor with me. His application was processed in four months and we had no issues. Applying outland while the applicant is living in Canada is quite common. Hope this helps.

My husband (Portuguese) was living here with me on 2 year long work visas. His PR was approved in just under 5 months, with no problems :) Our VO was Paris.

Hi kaycee1 and scylla, one more thing. How did the VO request additional documents? Is it through e-mail or mail?
Like PPR and AOM etc. etc.

Hi, I am a lil confused, as my husband whom i want to sponsor is here with me in canada on work permot and I am citizen here, We are married for 2 yrs but did not apply for immigration yet, we got married in india and then he got a job transfer here from usa, Is it faster to apply for his PR from canada or from USA. THanks Appreciate your help, I want him to get his PR soon as we both have already delayed a lot thanks

Hi Kaycee1,

Our VO is also Paris, i'm a Portuguese girl in a common-law relationship with a Canadian.
Our application was received in Paris VO 2 weeks ago so I guess still some months until we hear something.
I did not file a medical with mt app as I was told by the Canadian embassy in Paris not to do it. Did you do the same?
They told me that I would be asked at a later date to undergo the medical.
Anyway, glad to hear your application didn't take that long :))

Apply

Since you are Canadian Citizen you should apply in Canada outland sponsorship. That is faster than inland.

I have been staying with my husband in Canada as a visitor while we applied for my PR. You just have to make sure you keep your visitor's status valid.

I received the good news today: my application was finalized and I will be landing as a Permanent Resident in 2 days!

Thanks! I got notified by regular mail. Because I'm from a visa exempt country, I didn't get a Passport Request (PPR), but I immediately got Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).

May your PR timeline be as quick as mine!

To everyone who's VO was in Paris: does this mean you have to speak French?

Hi Nordiques32,

My visa office is in Paris because they are the ones who deal with my country especifically. You have Paris that deal with a bunch of countries, Berlin that deals with another set of countries, Vienna deals with another group and so on.
It doesn't mean you have to speak French.

Hope my answer was clear.
Are you going through Paris VO?

OMG guys! i got my PPR today i am so happpppppy!!
they also request visa photos , appendix a and NBI.

anyway, if ever i got approved how will they give me my PR since i am already here in canada as visitor?
should i go to US? dont know what to do
