I am in canada on post graduate work visa as well as multi entry temporarily resident visa..if my visa close to expiring date and I need to apply for visitor visa will I have more chance to get that visa since my PR is in process or its an disadvantage?
It's my question too!
My both study permit and temporary visa will be expired on Aug. 31. I have applied for study permit extension about 3 weeks ago (2-3 weeks after filing my immigration application). I am still waiting for it. (The process usually takes 30-40 days)
I hope my immigration application does not affect my current status renewal!

Fingers crossed! :)
Two friends of mine who had applied in May got their PPR last week from Ankara, but I know some are still waiting since 7 months ago (in Ankara VO)!
No one knows what's going on at the visa offices! Let's see...
I hope we can get ours in a month or two!

My Japanese wife is currently in Canada with me while we wait for her DM....

We applied in June of 2015 and are having our application processed in Manila. The wait is killing...

I know we shouldn't be complaining since we're together, but we expected things to be a little faster.

Hello All,

I just sent my application. Is there any spread sheet available for this category?
Also, I would like to know how long it takes to get AOR1?
I sent my application with first stage medical test which does not show the final result. should I send the final result to cic as well?

Here's the link to the 2016 Outland spreadsheet:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nQFdDeeLRGrdl_DzlAumwv6nyz-oprHo5rU1bGdDdqs/edit#gid=658388151

It's taking about 21 days at this point. 36 days (80% of apps) to SA. Some get SA/File Transfer before AOR1.

If your panel physician uses eMedical, and you sent the sheet with the barcode (UMI#), they'll link your app to your final results.

Good luck!!

I can advice...but what's your story?
Married or common law?
When did you married or since when you are common law partner.
Your religion?
Have your husband/wife/partner met your family ?
Future plans?

I had my interview a week ago in Ankara.

Hi
I'm an Aussie in Canada my visa runs out in March and I am common law with my Canadian boyfriend so he is sponsoring me.

Our immigration lawyer told us to apply IN Canada but now I hear you can't travel if you apply IN Canada.

If I apply out of Canada does anyone know the processing times for Australia and if you can leave Canada whilst it's being processed.
I'm so confused I'm so close to finishing my IN Canada application I don't know which one to do

Cyclist,

That's great, so you probably can help me a lot.
Please see my responses:

I can advice...but what's your story? My wife and I knew each other from 9 years ago and were in a relationship for the past two years! We got married last April and now we are living together. We haven't had a wedding ceremony however we will have one probably next summer but nothing has been arranged yet. We have many photos and documents that show our relationship and also all the legal documents for marriage.
Married or common law? Married
When did you married or since when you are common law partner. About 6 months ago!
Your religion? Muslim
Have your husband/wife/partner met your family? Yes My wife met my family in a short trip that she went back to our country.
Future plans? We are living together right now and we probably want to move to another city in Canada (Toronto or Vancouver). I am working and my wife is studying right now.

I guess we couldn't convince you in the other thread, so...take a look through this thread:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/thread-for-applications-through-sydney-australia-office-t46958.2265.html

You'll see that a lot of people are getting PR in ~ 4 months. These are REAL people!

Regarding your question about travel...Nowhere does it say that you CANNOT travel with an Inland application. You certainly can. The consequences for being denied re-entry, is what differs; substantially!

IMHO, there are only three possible advantages to an Inland application:
1. If the applicant is in Canada without legal status, as it offers a layer of protection from being removed by CBSA.
2. For those whose most important objective is to work ASAP, since an Open Work permit is usually issued ~ 4 months after applying.
3. If an interview is required, because of concerns/doubts about the relationship with the sponsor, it would be at the local CIC office, NOT the foreign national's home country.

So...if you want your PR ASAP, I highly recommend Outland. The application packages are nearly identical, so don't let that discourage you.

Propaply you will get asked :
why there wasn't any ceremony .
Why you chose outland.
How I can know you are not like roommates.

Since you are married you need to show them some beneficial documents that show you are more than roommate. You have marriage certificate but it is easy to get one. Especially without having a ceremony withfamily and friends. Life Insurance or other kind of insures show you take care of him/her. You are more than marriage certificate. Leasing , rentals with your both names on it. Probably you know all these.

If you guys have different religion interviewer will ask about it.
Go with additional documents that you have and haven't sent yet.
Credit card statements that show expenses are covered by you or your wife. If it's by you even better.

The room is like a visitor room in jail lol...there is a glass window between you and interviewer. No phone though.

When you walk in to the room interviewer tells you why you are invited for interview.

If you have any questions ask me.

Cyclist,
Thanks a lot for the help! You mentioned that "When you walk in to the room interviewer tells you why you are invited for interview". I am guessing what could be the reason for our interview. May I ask what was the reason for your interview?
Were they friendly during your interview?

Thanks!
