Outland apllication while living in Canada

Hello everyone,

I'm just finishing my applications and have one more question (hopefully it's the last one).

The IMM008 form asks for current country of residence and previous countries of residence.

The thing is I want to apply outland through Brazil but I have been living with my husband in Canada since March 2014. I'm on a tourist visa and I have been out of the country twice - in December 2014 for a week and in January/February for 45 days.

Should I put Brazil as my current country of residence since I'll apply outland?
I have, nonetheless, stated in the IMM5490 form that I'm currently living with my husband. Will it be contraditory?
Or could I put country of residence Canada and still apply outland since I am a Brazilian citizen and am only here as a temporary resident?

Many thanks and must say that this forum is extremely useful.

This is the dichotomy of the `semantics game' that one has to play with CIC/CBSA.

CIC doesn't care if you are living in Canada.

CBSA cares [very much] if you are living in Canada.

To answer your question, you should use your Canadian address as your residency address.

Good luck!

Put your current address, which is Canada.

You can be in Canada and apply outland. Be honest on your forms.
