Out of status date coming up soon inland spousal sponsorship

After checking another thread I just realized that some forms were updated in June! I definitely am going to apply for the extention now. Thanks so much

There is usually a grace period with forms being updated etc but you just never know what the officer looking at your app is going to do.

For $100 extension fee it's worth the peace of mind!

Since my 6 months is June 23 which is Saturday do I apply for extention or restoration. I’m going to try to send it in tomorrow but which do I do?

You can apply for extension up until 11.59pm on Friday technically. You do it online, not by mail.

Restoration is only something you have to think about if you fall out of status, which you are not.

Thank you so much for your time. I tried the online but it’s just to check my eligibility do I do the questionnaire then it will proceed me to the application? One of the questions is what do u want to do in Canada do I say move here or still visit?

You're gonna have to do it online. Mailing isn't option. Yes go through the wizard and say visit.

Do you have a mycic account set up already? Guessing not if you got your last visitor status at point of entry. You will need one. But you'll need one for your pr app anyway.

1. Hi hoping you can help me out with imm5708 visitor extention. I’m not too sure tho how to answer some of the questions.
   
   In the forms section: details of visit to Canada (I am in Canada so they are confusing)
   
   1. Purpose of visit? Should I say other the state I’m doing spousal sponsorship or just say visit?
   
   2. Indicate how long you intend to stay? What’s the date I should use? Should I put my out of status date then up to a year?
   
   Another section : background information
   
   Question 2c- have you previously applied to enter or remain in Canada ? Should I select yes since I recently submitted in land spousal sponsorship?

Put your reason as visiting. They will see you have submitted the pr app. You are applying to remain "visiting" technically.

For how long put 6 months. Can't remember of that's check no or date. If it needs a date put 6 month after the expiry date.

The last question..if it is your first application to extend put no. You haven't applied to remain. The pr app doesn't count as applying to remain I don't think.

Where it allows you to upload additional doc..with that put an explanation that you are applying to remain in Canada while you OWP app and pr app is processed. Include the receipt showing you paying your fees. Also if you have some kind of receipt of posting and/or signature upon delivery include that.

If your visitor status expires June 23rd you have to have it submitted today.

Temporary residents: Inland applications for permanent residence and temporary resident status extension
In situations where an applicant who has visitor status submits an application for permanent residence to a case processing centre in Canada and, at the same time, submits an application for a work permit, the visitor may be considered to have requested an extension of their temporary resident status. They are considered to have implied status as a visitor, until a decision is made on their work permit application.

When no application for a work or study permit is received with the application for permanent residence, the applicant is obliged to apply to extend their visitor status.

They refused my restoration that’s why I have status for 7 months
