Out of status date coming up soon inland spousal sponsorship

hi guys so I’m sending in my spousal sponsorship and OWP application tomorrow Friday June 15. On June will mark 6months I’m in Canada on a visitor visa. If immigration don’t receive my application by 22 will I be out of stays or will I have implied until receive and a decision is made

When no application for a work or study permit is received with the application for permanent residence, the applicant is obliged to apply to extend their visitor status.

So you are saying I should be fine?

the application has to be complete and not returned........why its good to apply for visitor visa extension to remain in status.

I would apply for your visitor status extension anyway. If for some reason your app is returned to you for missing info/errors you would then be out of status if you haven't applied to extend your visitor status.

You will be on Implied Status because of your OWP, as long as you get the application in before the 22nd. However, if for some reason your applications get sent back due to incomplete fees (FYI: make sure you pay the 255 for the OWP) or forms (all forms are signed and completed), you will lose your implied status and will be out of status. You will have to apply for restoration of status and then re send all of your documents back in order to "fix" your status and receive your OWP. Due to the fact that it is so close to the Out of Status date, I would recommend also applying for a Visitor extension, just in case. That way you will still have implied status if your applications get returned for whatever reason.

Ok guys I got my out of status date wrong. So June 23 is my date. My package was received today! June 21. So if all goes well I should benefit from the implied status? Right?

But if your app is sent back you will also be "out of status"...something you very much want to avoid.

I'd consider the applying to extend visitor status regardless.

What if the extension gets denied? Will that affect my pr and owp application?

It is VERY unlikely it would get denied. They would see that you have an OWP app and PR app in (you would mention this when applying for your extension) There is a chance that you would get your OWP approved before the visitor extension.

The visitor extension really is just a safety incase something is wrong with your OWP/PR app and its returned to you.

After checking another thread I just realized that some forms were updated in June! I definitely am going to apply for the extention now. Thanks so much
