We just tried logging onto my wife's ecas using our Application No. from Mississauga's AOR and it worked! Seems the uci is for each individual person.

The content reads:
Application Received
We received your application for permanent residence on January 25, 2016.
Medical results have been received.

(January 25th being the date received listed in Mississauga's AOR)

Seems now we just have to wait for it to turn to "In process"...

Hang in there, ImABule!
Thanks man. I have a feeling my application is gonna take forever to process. My wife's dad has two wives (legal in Indonesia) but not if you're a civil servant. Long story short.. He's a government employed teacher and used a fraudulent second ID card with a change to his name to marry his second wife. We had to disclose that to cic because we had to list all my wife's half/step siblings on IMM5406. I can just imagine how long the background check is gonna be...

Is anyone else applying from a country which is neither Canada nor your wife's country of nationality?
I'm in the same boat dmac (my wife is from Vietnam but we live in Singapore).

We sent out our package on January 27th, but what I thought was registered mail with SingPost here was actually not. So I only have confirmation it arrived in Canada on February 2nd, with no further tracking once they gave it to Canada Post.

Hoping to hear something soon... :(

We're living in (PR) China, we used an int'l Chinese courier called EMS to send our package, but lost track of it for a while when it was being processed by customs. After the processing was done, we used the tracking id from EMS to track the package through Canada Post.

Maybe you can try the same (that is, input the SingPost tracking number into the Canada Post tracking system)?

@ImABule, that would be very frustrating if you guys have to pay for the actions of your father-in-law. How have cases similar to yours developed? From what I understand, honesty is the key to this application, and it sounds like you guys did the right thing reporting the situation clearly.

Are you a PR or a Canadian citizen?

I'm a Canadian citizen. From what I understand PRs residing overseas are ineligible to become sponsors.

Thanks and good suggestion, but no luck unfortunately - doesn't come up.

Fingers crossed and hope I hear something this week! :)

Hey all,

My wife's ecas just changed from 'application received' to 'in process'!

I assume this means SVO has started processing her application...?

I didn't notice this group so I joined the general Singapore timeline group earlier.

I have a Vietnamese wife so I'll stick to this one.

Did anyone read the article where Justin Trudeau plans to allow 305,000 immigrants this year? Hope this would result in a quicker decision made.

I'd like to see that article, by the way. Do you have a link?

If you search back around December 2015, the Minister also made comments about speeding up processing times. And it looks like he is keeping his words for AOR and SA. Prior to the new year, the stats were around 57 days and it is down to about 38 days for the February applicants.

Dont' worry so much about the processing times guys. Back when I applied for my wife in 2014, a typical Vietnamese applicant would need about 1 year just to get to IN PROCESS for a non-complicated case, but my wife, along with numerous others at that time, were able to get our wives their PR in just 6 months average.

Then a year later, I was shocked to find that a few more applicants were able to get their Vietnamese spouses PR card in just THREE months for a non complicated case. You read that right, 3 months. If you guys scroll through the older posts of this forum, you should find a few of these people.

Also, I have a few people who were issued 24 month waiting period interview letters, but in reality, they only had to wait about a year on average, and one guy who just spoke with me last week, only had to wait 6 months for the interview.

And lastly, I know Vietnam has a bit of a bad rep for being difficult to get a visitor visa to Canada, especially if the Vietnamese spouse is married and sent in a PR app already, but my wife was successful in getting one (see signature and timeline). Don't be discouraged to apply for one if you feel you need to.

Keep your heads up and don't worry so much.
