Hi

We just got back from our interview. It was an easy process. But my husband got extremely nervous and couldn’t even answer those easy questions like “What are you duties at work”. She gave him several chances to correct himself but he messed up the whole situation.

She didn’t refuse our application on our face. But she said:

“At this point I am not satisfied with your answers. I will go now and review your application and the required job description one more time and mail you my decision to the address where we have been mailing all your letters.”

The IO was straightforward but very supportive as she clearly tried to correct my husband and gave him chances to repeat his job duties about 4 times.

If I was the IO I would have rejected the application. So if she rejects our application can’t blame her in anyway.

I don’t know what option we have left if our application gets rejected. Can we request to schedule another interview?

Any advice?

If your husband is main applicant then maybe his job duties are important.

BUT, If you are the main applicant then why should IO ask your husband his employment questions. Maybe she can ask but not reject on that basis - what if your husband was not even ever employed, I mean there are no adaptability points for husband's occupation. She could reject if your husband is not able to answer his education questions like what degree he has. I would certainly recommend to hire a lawyer in this case.

Again, if husband is main applicant - it is trouble.

Thanks

At the begining the IO asked for our PC ( which was not in the document request list) she was a little mad as we didn't provide that along with our passport and apointment letter. ( we did not argue wih her, we said sorry and provided the document).

Yes we have a lawyer. I will talk to him today. let see what he suggest.

Within how many days do you think we will get our refusal letter.
(It's really hard to keep my head straight at this moment)

I have one more question,
I'm a graphic artist for 1 year and
I can get an arrange employment in canada,
I have 15 years of education..

I was wondering if I'm eligible for FSW with AEO. ( where can I find more info?)

Sorry to hear about that, but usually if the application is approved, they will tell you right there and give you further instruction - although all officers are not same.

Lets hope for the good outcome, however if your husband cannot describe his own job duties then they will think that it might not true and refuse your application on that basis. IO has full discretion to accept or reject applicant on the basis of their observation.

Thanks for your supportive reply.

I am feeling very unfortunate, and don't see any silver lining.

I can only pray for the best.

Hi Auditi,

That's great news! You mean to say that even if your husband had problems answering questions about his job, the IO overlooked this and will process your case until issuance of PR?

How did the IO communicate to you that he/she was considering your case? Did they email or send letter?

Kindly share with us. This is certainly good news.

Thanks mike.

kyu my husbend was really nervous at the interview, but probably our documents were good enough to explan his job duties and he has 8 years of expeience of his field of work which I think worked for him.
