For those who got PPR (in my case, just a photocopy) for the Ottawa office, do they send the COPR back in the Canada Post xpress envelope that you have to provide? Or does it come in the usual CIC brown envelope?

They send it back in the Xpress envelope you provide. Ours took 10 days from the day went sent it to getting the COPR and we're in Alberta.

Ah damn, was actually kinda hoping it was the brown envelope so then there was at least a chance they had sent it and it was on its way.

Did you write down the tracking number? I checked it daily to see when it was on the way haha how long has it been?

Yep I've got the tracking number so have been checking it daily, no record in Canada posts system yet so nothings been sent unfortunately. It's only been 10-11 days but I hadn't even thought of PPR because I had been following the Ottawa/US outland threads and most Americans don't seem to get it, so having this extra wait I wasn't really counting on is a bit frustrating.

Also, for you I see they wanted a photocopy of every page in your passport, made me go double check I had read my email right as I thought I had screwed up for a second. They only wanted the photo page for me

Yeah I noticed that too when I was waiting for my COPR and wanted an estimate on the wait time, couldn't find any info. It was just Easter so the 2 public holidays probably didn't help, hopefully it leaves Ottawa this week :)

I think the one (and only) advantage to getting the PPR is that by sending in the new photos now rather than when they are processing the PR card you should hopefully get it faster. There's quite a few people that are getting the new photo request after landing which is delaying the PR card..

if it's only photocopies and not your actual passport, then it isn't necessary to mail it. usually they accept it scanned and emailed. the COPR will come in a brown envelop in regular mail (assuming you didn't mail them your passport).

The instruction was to mail it, as they needed the two updated photos too.
