Hi ultimate_mr_universe link, that's strange that they asked you to submit RPRF with medicals as none of us received request to pay that as we'll be receiving request for RPRF with PPRs now, what's your visa office though?

Hi Ahmadtajwer,
Thanks for your post, becuase I was starting to wonder if I should have paid anything and didn't realise. It makes me feel at easy knowing that I havent missed anything.

Also, M+MJ, thanks for sending the email. I am waiting to see if you get a response... if they delay my case by much longer, then I will have to end up doing medicals again, since I did them on 27 July 2010, and I spent nearly 500 pounds, so it would not be cool that they make me pay for medicals twice just because Ottawa has not put their act together.

On my letter I was told my case should be finalised by 8 March 2011, so I am waiting until February to tell them about it and that my medicals would be reaching their 1 year validity.

When we were transferred to CPPO they were talking about 40 months, which is now. On the other hand CHC London has conveniently updated their processing times from 36-42 to 44 months_ an cowardly way to ensure we are "still within standard processing times" and they therefore cannot deal with any personal requests...
And like you edupolo, CPPO did mention that "10 months" timescale to finalise application, but they also added "if you don't hear us by Feb 2011". Well we did get our medicals, so technically we did hear from them. That's not to say we'll get finalised by Feb ???...

The latest email we got in September said
We have no quota that we are aware of. The medical forms were sent out a few days ago. We ask you to complete your medical examinations within 60 days. Visas would not be issued until at least early 2011.
Of course they were only saying that CPPO doesn't have any quotas, but London does! And what about "at least early 2011"? Jan, Feb, April? Or as suggested below, London will deal with us for 6 months in strict chronological order, and then do something else for 6 months, which means we could have to wait until... (I can't even write that date...)

Looking at the timelines of other London applicants, you cannot but be amazed at the discrepancies in timelines: Meds 4 october 2009, PPR 17 October , but Meds 8 October, PPR 15 January??? And now some of us have been waiting since July?

Our experience of dealing with CPPO is that they are much more responsive than London, especially when applicants mention problems with a specific deadline. When we said we were afraid we'd miss our meds because we were going to be away, they told us the meds had just been sent. Now we mention March maybe they'll be able to give us a more precise idea. Same for your med expiry edupolo, if our email fails I'm sure if you emailed them in Feb they would give you more info. Obviously you could'nt be expected to undergo meds again just because they failed to keep their timeline.

More good news, and bad: I read yesterday that London, who has so much backlog that they send stuff to Ottawa, is now in charge of Islamabad applications ...
But I came across a London SEp 2007 applicants (not CPPO) who got their PPRs on 30 December... Talk about a reason to celebrate the New Year ;D!!!

M+JM/Edupolo, what i personally believe that most of us if not all will be getting good news this month. If you remember pghamdi or someone who emailed to CPPO asking for update and was told that they'll start issuing PPRs from January. We have a month now which is Jan, if they start issuing visas from Jan than they what i believe is processing few hundred applications (i personally believe around 150-200 files), out of which probably 60-70 or aound 100 have done their meds so those ton would be sorted or will start getting sorted from Jan and might be done by Feb. I'm quite optimistic than we'll be done by Feb. Lets see what happens.

Oh I just LOOOOOOOVE those CPPO people! 17 hours after my query, this is the reply we got:

Sir,

Our office in London should be contacting you over the next few weeks to ask for your passports, photos and a payment of the Right of Permanent Residence Fee. Your file appears Ready for Visa.

.............................. Breathe...Get over the shock......

My first thoughts are:
1) We ARE going to Canada...
2) ... and soon!
3) Hopefully you guys aren't too far behind (or maybe before) us!

First thing I did after reading their mail, I acted on instinct: I had to thank CPPO for treating us decently when London just ignores us. I sent a quick reply to CPPO saying:

Thank you so much for your prompt reply! Getting responses from London is something of a miracle, but the people at CPPO really do their best to restore our faith when the wait becomes too hard. It's great to know there are human beings at the other end too.
Wishing everyone at CPPO (an Ottawa, and Canada!) a really happy New Year!

Looks like Ottawa has kept their half of the promise, now it's up to London...I really hope that everybody here will be receiving great news soon too, and then maybe we can close this thread sometime in 2011!

Now unleash your fury of replies ;D!

Thanks M+MJ,

That sounds like a very positive response, and I hope it is similar to the one I would get if I wrote to them, since I have been waiting since July.

As I said before, I will wait until the end of the month before I send them a similar email. Hoepfully I get the PPR before I have to email them. It is just that I am getting nervous about my medicals' expiry date.

If they contact me in Feb, I would probbaly get my visa by March, which leaves me with just 3 months to validate my visa, so it really should happen very soon so that I can at least pack before I go.

Are you guys planning to move permanently right away or validate your visa and return to the UK to finish stuff like work, house, and other miscellaneous?

Thanks M+M. That's definitely a good news for me waiting for PPR with almost the same timeline as yours and for sure for others too. Our medicals were sent on 5th October.
