The next oath ceremony is Feb 23 for 2020 applicants, i guess for 2019 people ( assuming truckers are out of the street asap) we might have chance todo oath in march. Else it will be long time for us to get oath.

Ottawa is dead now. I don't think anybody will receive the certificates soon since the office is completely closed. It is so frustrating.
I guess you received it a couple weeks ago, but is it still showing "in-progress"? Were you able to apply for passport right?

I don't know what to say about Ottawa office.
I got my certificate after 77 days (oath on Oct 23, 2021 and certificate received on Jan 13, 2022) after multiple emails sent to Ottawa Office and an escalation to minister Sean Fraser (and receiving a reply from minister's office that my certificates were printed on Jan 11, 2022).

I submitted my citizenship application in Nov 2019.
I thought I was done with IRCC the moment I received the invite for oath.. I was NOT.
I thought I was done with IRCC the moment I had attended the oath. I was NOT. The battle to get the certificate just started.
I thought I was done with IRCC the moment I received the certificate and guess what. I was WRONG.

I applied for passport on Jan 17, 2022 (in-person at ServiceCanada office as I have planned travel within 25 business days). Submitted everything.
On Jan 28, 2022, I received a call from PassportsCanada saying that my certificates numbers are not showing in the system. Passports Canada cannot issue passports as they cannot validate the certificate. She said it can happen if you applied just the next day after oath.. I said I had my oath almost 3 months ago. She was shocked and said call IRCC and ask them to enter the info in the system. So I am back to SQUARE ZERO.

Whoever printed my certificates (I guess that is JT in Ottawa office) has not entered them in the system. Maybe that's why the tracker still shows "Citizenship Ceremony: In-Progress".

Sent email to Ottawa Office 10 days ago.. No reply. Tracker Status is still: In-Progress
Called IRCC call center: We are receiving high number of calls.. Unless this is about Afghanistan crisis, Call back later.
Sent another escalation to the minister.. Awaiting for response (maybe in a month).

Email this as a reply to the email sent by the minister, also cc ottawa office. Its ok to be angry in those emails. This is truly ridiculous

Wow I am speechless. That is extremely painful. Ottawa office is torturing us. All our plans and travels have been ruined. Sometimes, I get at a point to say I will travel and f**k PR and citizenship.

Ottawa office is so slow, now truckers then spring break then summer break then back to school then Christmas and so on. I dint feel this backlog been treated fairly by IRCC, many late 2020 are already done with processing while 2018-2019 waiting in the dark

Wow I am speechless. That is extremely painful. Ottawa office is torturing us. All our plans and travels have been ruined. Sometimes, I get at a point to say I will travel and f**k PR and citizenship.

If you are waiting for certificate in Ottawa, you can start emailing them about the truckers situation not ending soon and for them to find alternate ways to print certificates, either by outsourcing to other offices (with priority) or to get other departments that can open to do so. or to issue them electronically, I dont know. Truckers arent f***ing off, we cant wait indefinitely, a solution needs to be found

Send emails to the minister.. Multiple escalations about a specific office can help. As I mentioned earlier, I got a response from minister's office after 25 days. They assigned someone to check on my file and respond to me.

Please guys don't forget to send the same email to the minister today between 11:30am to 1:00pm. No matter you are in which stage, Ottawa remains slow if we don't push them. Even if you are lucky and end up with finishing everything. The last stage is certificate which is queue based. Imagine Oct oath are still waiting for their application to be "closed" and they cannot apply for passport. Nov oath are still waiting to get the certificates. So, please send the following email even if you don't like to include your UCI and name.
