so parents and grandparents deceased. No spouse, no common law partner, no children, no other Canadian/PR relatives.
So since your parents and grandparents are deceased and you have no family in Canada (single, no children, no family like aunts, uncles, cousins), then you can sponsor them. Look at requirements in IRCC site.
Thanks @Naturgrl. Please do you have an idea of the minimum financial requirements? I can't seem to find it on the IRCC site.

Wow! 20 years is a long time... so just to confirm, if i sponsor them, my sister's child won't be eligible for CCB right? i am assuming that CCB is part of Territorial/provincial social assistance payments.
They will be eligible for CCB once they are PRs. The 20 year financial obligation means that if they go on social assistance at any time during that 20 year period (e.g. welfare), you will be responsible for paying this money back to the government.
You already are thinking about them getting government money, and you have not even begun the sponsorship process and they have not paid any taxes or worked in Canada? Depending on income they may be eligible for CBB.
Your responsibilities
When you sponsor a relative to become a permanent resident of Canada, you must:
- meet set income guidelines
- agree in writing to give financial support to your relative and any other eligible relatives coming with them:
- beginning on the date they become a permanent resident
- for up to 20 years (depending on their age and how you’re related)
