I spent an hour or so last night trying to figure out a way to call the toll-free number specified on the document checklist in order to obtain an Option C printout. From the UK (Northern Ireland) I tried dialling 00 1 800 XXX XXXX and that put me through to a recording saying that I would be charged as the toll free number wasn't available to callers outside the US, and to stay on the line if I didn't mind being charged. I stayed on the line, then got another recording saying that the number wasn't available to me, and to try calling another 1 800 number. I tried that one, calling 00 1 800 xxx xxxx and got a recording saying that I would be charged, and to stay on the line if I didn't mind. I stayed on the line and got another recording saying that the number wasn't available to me, but they didn't give me any other number.
I then found the direct number on the Revenue Canada website, 613.952.3741, which said that it would accept collect calls. I dialled the international operator (155) and asked for a collect call to go to this number. He tried twice, but it was busy both times.
Eventually I ended up just sitting there and pressing redial so my phone called 00 1 613 3741 until finally it went through and I was able to order my option C printout. It took about 20 minutes on the phone with the Revenue Canada person to confirm my details and get my information.
If you are having trouble getting through, what I would reccomend is having a family member in Canada call the toll free number for you and give them your information and the address where you would like your print out mailed. All they asked was for my social security number, my name, date of birth, and mailing address. Then they asked for the address where I would like my printout mailed. If you don't mind disclosing this information to someone you trust, then it would be much easier to have someone in Canada call.
Good luck!
