Hi, Can some one help me on work permit? I was here on a Intra company transfer(closed work permit).
1. My spouse has a open work permit. Can she work now and will her work permit be intact even if my closed work permit is cancelled?
2. Can I get a open work permit after my spouse gets the job ?

1. She can work as long as her permit is valid.

2. No, you cannot get a work permit based on her.

Thanks for reply. But can I get a work permit if my wife’s work permit is closed by the company she joins?

Thanks for replying. My wife is an Electrical engineer but she has an offer of sales and service agent from a Insurance company. So is this job considered to be a skilled job? Can I get a open work permit if she gets closed work permit for this job?

Her employer needs to get an approved LMIA in order for her to change to a closed work permit. Having a job offer isn't enough. It typically takes 4-6 months for an employer to obtain an approved LMIA.

Hi,
Im a Permanent resident and i want to apply open work permit for my wife. While applying there was one question which says:

Are you a spouse, common-law partner or dependent child of a person who:
  • Holds a work permit or is applying for a work permit
  • (only spouses or common-law partners) holds a study permit and is a full-time student in a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) eligible program of study at a PGWP eligible designated learning institution?;
  • holds a temporary resident permit that is valid for 6 months or more;
  • applied for permanent residence to an office in-Canada and was determined to be eligible for permanent resident status (first stage approval); or
  • is subject of a removal order that is unenforceable

what should i select YES or NO?

And another question is should AOR mail should be attached in supporting documents while applying open work permit? As I see there is no upload option for AOR letter.

You haven't provided details on what basis you applied for the OWP so hard to comment.

Still not enough information. On what basis have you applied for an open work permit? Has your wife submitted an application to sponsor you for PR and have you received AOR?

You don't qualify for an OWP if your wife is a PR and she hasn't sponsored you for PR yet.
