Hi there, we are nearly about to submit our application for inland- common law sponsorship with the open work permit application attached. But we just discovered that the Open work permit must include a Statutory Declaration of Common-law union or we think anyways?
And also it asks for supporting documents but wouldn't all out information be double if we are including a family sponsorship application as well? Anyone have any insight into this ?
Thanks in advance !

You need to provide the supporting documents even though it is double because they send your OWP application to someone else to treat it. If you don't send the supporting documents in double, your application will be returned as it will be considered as incomplete.

You must include the declaration only if you are common law. If you are married you don't need to.

does that mean you must submit joint utility account, joint ownership of property etc? All we found is that we must include passport, national identity document, and birth certificate, statutory of declaration of common law union (and that the document asks about joint accounts etc, but doesn’t necessarily say we must include it).
Thank you for your help!

No you don't need proofs of relationships for the work permit. We included a copy of our wedding certificate. My husband put a copy of all the pages of his passport, a copy of his current work visa, the documents, the checklists and that was it if I remember properly (but make sure you double check the checklist). I think he also put a copy of our electricity bill to show his address.

The other relationship proofs are for the sponsorship application. You need to put them at the end of the package for the sponsorship. Then you put the documents for the work permit plus the other papers they ask (copy of current visa etc). You put all this in the same envelope in the order of the checklist with the barcodes at the top and that's it

One last thing we are bit concerned on, we just got our 2 photos for the sponsorship application developed, but must we attach two photos with the open work permit as well? So 4 pictures in total developed ? And did you include the work permit checklist? So not just the sponsorship checklist in your application.
Thank you! All these last minute questions have me so stressed !!

No, you don't need photos for the work permit, just for the sponsorship application (so 2 in total). I also included the work permit checklist. You write N/A next to each item that you did not include in the package.
