Open Work Permit - No Specific NOC

I'm completing an Express Entry profile.

Under one of the sections it asks if I am working currently in Canada legally (I am).
It asks if I have a valid work permit for the job (I do).
It asks if my employer is named on the work permit (It is not).
It then asks for the 4 digit NOC code of the current work permit - mine is an Open Work Permit and there is no NOC code on there.

Does anyone know what option to choose? It is a drop down menu to select a NOC code and cannot be left blank.
Anyone with a similar experience?

I am assuming your current job does not require an LMIA... It is because you have answered the initial question wrong. Please see the note from CIC:

"Candidates who are currently working in Canada but have not been offered a job that is supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment should answer “No” to the question “Does [Candidate] have a job offer in Canada?” and they should create a Job Seeker account in Job Bank."

If you change your answer to No, then you won't be asked any of the questions you are having difficulty with.

Hello!
Here is the answer from CIC website.

"There is no National Occupation Classification (NOC) code on my work permit. What should I put in my Express Entry profile?

If there is no National Occupational Classification (NOC) code on your work permit, you should find and use the NOC code of the job you are currently doing in Canada."

Good luck!

I did this. But it is confusing, instructions on different CIC pages are contradictory, and in the end you have to choose between saying you have no job offer when you do, as per one set of instructions, and saying that there is an NOC code on your work permit when there isn't, as per the other!

If its not supported by LMIA the answer is NO.

I have the same question. I don't understand why you'd say you don't have a job offer if you do? As far as I understand, a valid job offer combined with a BCPNP nomination should give you enough points for residency, regardless of LMIA.

My followup question is, if I don't list my job offer on my application, how will Canada know I have a job offer at all? Will the BCPNP nomination negate my need to advise Canada about my job offer?

They will be able to know from your work history.
They have clearly mentioned if the job offer is not supported by LMIA; the answer should be NO

Hi, I'm reopening the thread a little bit late, but I'm in the same situation and there is no clear conclusion. Is completing the profile with the NOC that is related to the position that you are working on (even when your work permit is open and doesn't have one) the right way to go?

Thanks

Hi, i am in the same dilemma regarding "valid job offer in Canada". Should we write "yes" or "no". I am on my PGWP with 1 year of experience in Canada. I am working with the same employer. Should I say I have a valid job offer or no?

It has to be NO.
Reason: if you keep going with YES, later it will ask you NOC code for work permit- but your WP should be Open work permit and doesn't bind to any NOC, so has to be NO
I am 110 % confident in it.

Thanks for your reply. I filled the form with "yes" and used my current NOC as the work permit NOC.
When the CRS calculate scores, it says job offer not applicable under details about your profile. So i guess it doesn't matter if we write yes or no.

Hello all, I'm in the same boat. I've answered 'Yes' for valid job offer, but 'No' under if LMIA is issued and submitted the PR application. I have not gotten any extra points for this. Can anyone whose gone through the same as what I've done, share your experience on what happened to your PR? Thank you so much!
