Open Work Permit Help

Hi there, so I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this, so I submitted my spouse or common-law partner in Canada Class application for PR back in late March and have received an UCI and Application number. But when we submitted the application it said something along the lines of "Would you like to work in Canada whilst your application processes" to which we clicked "Yes" and when it came to paying the fees for the application it added the extra fees for an open work permit, which I believe was $100 and $155.
So really what my question is do I have to apply separately for an open work permit, or if clicking that and paying the fees during my application means I already have one processing along with my PR application?

Thanks

I am in the same boat here. Applied for inland PR and waiting for an open work permit. Have not received it yet. Any idea on the time lines?

Did you apply separately for the work permit? As I can't tell if I have applied for it as part of my PR inland application since I paid extra with the fees for a work permit, and I can't seem to find an answer to it. As far as timeline is concerned I'm not sure, and whether the recent strikes will add to extra time I'm unsure

Things changed (for the worse in many ways) back in September of 2022 making applying for SCPLC and OWP only available online. Prior to this, a person could submit an Inland (SCPLC) application and an OWP application at the same time; in the same envelope.

Now, the PR applicant cannot submit the OWP until they receive the AOR email, but if the OWP fees were paid upfront, It seems to be a real pain to tell IRCC that the fees have already been paid!

Try to attach a copy of your original receipt, or submit a web form, to alert IRCC that they already have your money.

Thank you, it all seems very strange, the way they asked when I submitted my PR and paid the fees that included the extra for the work permit makes it sound as if it'll automatically apply for an OWP, especially since they have all my information in the PR application. I have messaged IRCC on Twitter to ask about this, but god knows when I'll get an answer for this. I have, well my partner has received what I assume is AOR1 with the UCI and Application Numbers, but I have to wait for AOR2 to apply for an OWP? We have been using an immigration lawyer for help with questions etc, and he advised us to just apply for an OPW without receiving an AOR, as by the time the OWP processes you'll have you AOR by then, says what he does with his clients applications. But I just need to find out how to tell IRCC that I have already paid the fee's so I don't have to pay $250 again
