I plan to move to Surrey, BC.
SD36 requires at least one parent to have status for a child to be enrolled with Visitors record. Ensure to apply for Ministry Funded as well, as soon as you locate nearest school. ELL Welcome Center has resources to help you through the process.

One more thing, if you are arriving Mid March, there is a possibility your child will be enrolled in fall. Mid March is half way through end of school year.

Dear members, As I stated before, I plan to move to Canada, BC, Surrey, in Mid- March, with my 8 years old daughter. I am planning to rent a 1 BHK apartment, we will share bedroom. However, someone told me that as per Canada rules, its mandatory for a child to have her/his own room? Is it true?

Can you confirm if this true, so I can rent accordingly.

Congrats on your study permit. There are no rules but the landlord may specify how many people can live in an apartment. Should not be an issue. Assume you have found a rental so speak with your landlord. Some rentals don’t allow children.

It depends on how landlord want to enforce it but landlord can limit number of occupants per room

Many school boards do require a study permit now and schools around BC are one of the areas where you typically have to show study permits because many children were trying enrol who were not entitled to enrol . IRCC also often denies TRV and tells children of temporary l permit holders to apply for study permits. This has been a change during the past few years. Much safer to apply for a study permit now.

There is a lot of competition for rentals so landlords will typically select a single or couple versus a single parent and child. It is very unusual for an 8 year old to be sharing a bed and bedroom with a parent in Canada. Rules may allow for separate beds at that age in the same room. Most Canadian landlord would expect for an 8 year old to have their own bedroom even if you converted the living room into a bedroom in the evening for example. Surrey has a very high south East Asian diaspora so having children sleep in the same room may be more accepted. Having a child often leads to a reluctance to rent for noise reasons compared to renting to adults.

Many schools now a day's are asking for study permit of kid. I faced the same situation 2 months back. Luckily the border officers themselves gave study permit to my daughter at the airport (while giving open work permit to my wife). And when we reached the school they asked for study permit.
So it might be good idea ask for it from the officer at the airport to be on safer side. Even if you may not need it depending on province or school.

Not in British Columbia. Status of one parent is required to enroll student to School through DS-Boards.

I will be coming on a student visa and my kid on visitor visa, I think this will be not applied to me.
