Select such bank which has good network in Toronto ( in terms ATM's , branches, etc). I am not sure about SCB network in Toronto. Have heard of TD Bank as one of the largest bank having good network.

Or u can carry funds in DD form, Cash and open the account after landing there.

Thanks Coolguy... I already have bank account with SCB, which is present in Cananda. What if I keep that bank and transfer funds from scb dubai to scb canada and then after landing close scb and open account with good bank there? Will there be any additional charges/other losses involved?

I just came across below... I shall call them to see if they are really operating...

Actually, I do not want to carry funds in any form for such a long time since, I am planning to go to Pakistan from Dubai and then to Canada.

Suppose u have open account in Canada. U have transfer funds also to that bank.

At first landing will u show Bank statement of Canada Bank and will that be accepted as POF at Point of Entry is another question

Check what amount of US$ is allowed in Pakistan Airport to carry

Thanks Nekeol, you have any official link which depicts this type funds are accepted as POF as on CIC website only these are the ways mentioned:-

These funds could be in the form of:

cash
documents that show property or capital payable to you (such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.) or
documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you (such as bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders).

Checked with them, they are saying to contact this guy lalit.jagasia@scotiabank.com he'll arrange one day to visit the bank in DXB for verification and documents check up, so they are still working in UAE.

But still the question of considering this as POF remains unanswered as it's no where mentioned, same like it's no where mentioned whether to send PR cards through courier it is legal or not!!! ;)

I spoke to the guys at The bank in Dxb before my landing and figured out that there was no big advantage by opening an account with them here. Best option is to carry a DD and some Cash and then evaluate the banks when you land - there will be many to choose from rather than getting stuck with this one.

We are not choosing this one as main POF this just as an option for some spare money apart from POF.

Of course there are other banks which give more options with more local presence arms etc...
