Hi guys, this is Praveen. I hope you can help me with my situation.

I did my 2 year post-secondary diploma in Toronto and got 3 year open work permit (I don't have a bachelor's degree)
I have gained 1 year of work experience now
I recently changed my company and been working here for three months
My new employer is willing to give me a Permanent Job Offer by the end of this month.

But my employer has not been registered through employer pre-screen application on OINP.
And I wonder they might have to get an LMIA for my position to give me a permanent job offer

So if the company gets the LMIA, All I have to do is apply for express entry under experience class and submit my job offer and employers LMIA and should I be able to get the necessary 600 additional points?

And also do I have to enter my express entry profile even before the company process the LMIA or offer me a permanent job or I could do that after I get the offer and the letters?

Please do let me know if you happen to know some information regarding this as any of your experience might also help me a little..

No - you don't need to have an express entry profile in order for them to apply for an LMIA. Yes - and LMIA + permanent job offer will get you 600 extra points.

Awesome man. Thank you for that quick response. Now I will have to go and explain this to my Supervisor as she has to talk to the HR for that LMIA thingy.. Hope everything goes well..

I have one year of work experience in Canada related to the diploma program.. I thought that should be enough.. isn't it?

Having one year of experience doesn't automatically mean someone is going to be selected under CEC. Sure - they can apply. But if their points aren't high enough (currently 450+) - then they won't be selected.

Yeah, with that one year work experience and my other criteria, I will be on border 400 points. And now that my employer is willing to offer me a permanent job, I was hoping that it is going to get me the additional 600 points?

Hi syclla
My Lmia is on process for NOC 0631. Can I apply for EE and get the 600 points with just the Lmia and still waiting for WP? Will it affect my Eligibility in some ways?
Thank you.
