Hello,

I have recently completed my Masters from a Public University in Ontario. It was a two years Program which I completed within 1 year. I got the full time job offer from the same University in my field of study. I was just confused which one to choose, One with job stream or Masters One ?

Secondly, I am getting married next month. I want to know, is it necessary for her to be here if i need to apply for PNP ? Since I want it to be applied together or she would have to send documents to country she is in ? Because in this case, I will get her Spouse Visa first. How hard is spouse visa if you are on a good job ?
It is not possible for her to stay here ATM due to some reasons, so she can come and I can apply and she can leave. Or is there any other way around ?

I guess you can apply in either stream. Yet, you can verify with Opportunities Ontario by emailing/calling them.

Your wife doesn't have to be here when you apply for PNP or later PR. Being the principal applicant, you will submit all documents here (even on her behalf) if you are applying from Canada. I would recommend to get her TRV before applying for immigration. Once you get nominated and apply for PR to CIC, it will be harder for her to get a visitor visa as it will seem that you guys want to settle in and never go back. If she gets a visa, then it will be easier for you to send documents/application to CIC during the immigration process.

FYI, for Int'l Students with Job Offer Stream, your employer has to apply for pre-screen (MAX 3 Months). Upon approval, they send you a nomination application package and then you apply for PNP Certificate along with your wife (MAX 3 Months but generally much shorter). After getting nominated, you apply for PR to designated CIC office (generally CIC-Buffalo). According to current timeline, it may take up to 13 months for Buffalo to give you PR. You and your spouse will get it together.

Thanks for the information. So there is no as such thing that wife has to send documents to nearest consulate and I can send on her behalf to Buffalo too. I was just interested in Job stream because I heard it might be quicker but since Ontario Opportunities is swift too, I think I should go with Masters stream because other one is much hassle

You are right about 'spouse'. She will just be accompanying family member and has to send documents to you when you submit. If she stays back home, it will cause you little delay every time documents are sent back and forth.

The 'job stream' largely depends on your employer whereas "Masters or PhD stream" solely depends on you. Once your employer gets approved, your application will get done within a month. You can look at my signature for my timeline as I applied in "Int'l Student with Job Offer Stream". Besides, my wife resides back home as well.
