Hello, a friend got an invitation for the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program but they are currently a Refugee Claimant (no hearing yet). Would accepting the invitation be a bad idea compromising any chances they have? Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Accepting an OINP invitation should not impact your refugee claim. However, as far as I am aware refugee claimants in Canada are not eligible for OINP or Express Entry.

Refugee claimants are not eligible to apply for PR through economic immigration programs. No point accepting the invitation or submitting an application.

Some one in other groups applied under RNIP and got eligibility letter and pal ; ask a lawyer to make sure

If they are asylum claimants their applications will be denied eventually.
