My current Ontario health card expires in March 2014 which is when my post graduate work permit expires. Now I recently got my work permit extended via BOWP to December 2014, and also have received my CoPR. Am I allowed to get my health card renewed to December 2014 right away, or do I need to wait until I have a physical PR card? I plan to complete my landing process this weekend by the way.

What about SIN? Can I apply for a new SIN card right away? My SIN also expires in March 2014. Am assuming my SIN will change since my status has changed?

A response would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can get SIN and OHIP just with your BOWP and proof of residency in province.

I second that. I got my SIN and OHIP extended using BOWP yesterday.

Does my SIN not change though once PR is confirmed? If I extend my SIN using BOWP, my SIN would remain the same, correct? Should I be using my CoPR for a new SIN?

If you can renew these things with your permanent resident status, then do that. You may have to 'land' and have your PR card issued first; if that's true then perhaps the PR card won't be issued in time.

But yes, if you extend using your work permit, it will be the same temporary SIN (starts with 9 and has an expiry date).

I don't see any problem with renewing these things first with your work permit, and then once more with the necessary evidence of your permanent resident status once you have it (except the inconvenience of multiple trips to government offices, of course).
