Hello,

I have applied for PR, then OWP. First I received instructions for medicals (OWP) and medicals are done for OWP. My passport is still with NDVO, which I have submitted along with my WP application.

But recently I also received instructions for Medicals, Passport submission and RPRF for PR process with a dead line date. As my passport is still with CHC and they are also having WP medical reports with them, do I need to take for Medicals (for PR) again? What about my passport that has to be sent to PR section, which is with WP section of CHC right now?

I'm confused with these instructions, because even though my PP gets stamped with a WP visa (TRV), I cannot travel because I have to sent my PP again to PR section of CHC.

Can anybody give some advise on this please?

Congrats... I think you are the first person under FSW pilot to get the RPRF request from NDVO.
Regarding the medicals, your OWP Medicals are valid for one year and considered for PR aswell. RPRF you can pay online.
So ineffect NDVO has all your required docs to finalize your case.

Can you please calrify below queries
1. Your Sidney AOR date ?
2. Second AOR date from NDVO ?
3. OWP Application/Medical Request date ?
4. When did you received RPRF request ?
5. Didnt they ask for PCC now for PR ?

@ Ashu - Heartiest Congratulations ashu2009!! You could email NDVO informing them that they have your passport.

@Salooni - I haven't applied for OWP. I've received 2nd AOR from NDVO on 09 Mar 2013 for PR application.

I think online payment is only allowed for In-Canada applicants as mentioned here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp ("You can find information on fee payment methods at the website of the visa office...Visa and consular offices cannot accept receipts for fees paid in Canada"). So payment method should be checked on NDVO website.

I feel if NDVO is asking for RPRF fees then Its better to send DD. Because Indian Credit Cards will charge Additional 2.5 to 3.5 % as Forex Conversion on Dollar Amounts. I think when we pay in Dollars then we end up paying more.

Following are the Fees Amounts from NDVO site :

Right of Permanent Resident Fee (Principal Applicant, Spouse/ Partner) 490CAD$ or 25,970 INR

I did following math :

Today's Conversion rate shows 1 CAD$ = 52.9731 INR , but earlier this conversion amount was higher than this rate ( INR56 in Jan 13 )
So 490 CAD$ as of today is = 25,956.8 + ( 2.5 to 3.5% more charged by bank on credit card ) .


If Dollar rate falls below than this rate 52.97 INR then Paying in Dollars might be better option.

e.g :

In January I paid WP Fees online through credit card as 150 CAD$ but DD required was INR 7,950, Because I paid online so I ended up paying 8600 INR.

After all money does not grow on trees and we have to earn it, so save as much as you can because we need it in Canada , life is not easy without money in Canada, its very expensive country, specially in Ontario with 13% HST on every thing we purchase.

Hi,

I think you should consider withdrawing your OWP. I am not sure if any VO can issue two VISAs on the same passport. So you have a choice of going for OWP and delay your PR or withdrawing your OWP and proceed with PR.

Going by my experience: I have been requested to take IME, pay RPR Fee, and submit passports a month after taking IME. So I have just written a Letter of Withdrawal for OWP, delivered it and got back my documents that I submitted on the same day. It is a hard choice but it was not clear how long PR may enter "In Processing" Phase.

It is really a hard choice but I think that was the only most logical thing for me to do. You will notice that, even if I get it in a weeks time, I will not be able to travel immediately since I still need to submit the passport.

Yes, this is correct.

I paid for my new born application fee and my VO indicated that they do not accept payment made online. So I had to repay, and submitted refund. So, my recommendations is unless otherwise, please use the instructions for your VO on how you should make payments.

Depend on your Local VO. If its NDVO really cant predict anything.

I received 2nd AOR from NDVO via email in 40 days after I received 1st AOR from CIC, NS.

I think next step should be MR. However, I have no clue how long it takes. I read some posts on other forums, it ranges from 15 days to 6 months. Some people have got MR, RPRF and passport request in a single email. Some have got it in MR, RPRF + Passport Request sequence.

I'll let know whenever I get the next email regarding the next step.
