Hi, any idea how long is the processing of Open Work Permit in Manila, Philippines?

For OWP, I have filled up the Main Application form, TRV application form & Family info form for my wife and me.

However, what all forms do I need to fill for my 8 year old kid? I assume it will be a study permit but not sure which all forms are needed.

Need some help here. THanks!

It takes around 6 months to get Medical request from application date to CIO if you got your AOR.. so think before applying work permit might be waste of money as u might get medical request soon.

I do agree with rp_tp, actually work permit is not really required if you visa office completes your PNP application in 1 years, as you have to face lot of hassle in workpermit.

One of my friend got Medical request in 6 months his application date was in Aug 2012.. there is one more guy in AINP backlog who got the medical request in same time limit.

My friend here in Manila applied for a work permit in October and got medical request dec. Maybe it depends on the VO. Also, I asked a job hunter in Ontario and they said it will only take 2 mos to process this OWP. I filed mine 2nd week of Dec, I will update here for any progress.

Folks - I received email from CIO-Sydney office today mentioning my file number and receipt number.

By mistake I had put my visa office as Detroit, but I think all Detroit are automatically sent to CPC-Ottawa. I have written to them about its confirmation before I send out my PCCs. Anyone else has any views on this if all Detroit PR files are moved to CPP-Ottawa now?

Good Luck Kia99, Indeed its good news. Wait for communication from Detroit, CIO might send your file to Ottawa directly as you are in Canada only.

Thanks rp_tp for the info. My application reached CIO just yesterday so I guess it wud make sense for me to apply for OWP, considering that it is better to move to Canada during summer so that you get time to settle (driving license, car, etc) before the harsh winter sets in.

I agree since for India VO, it only takes 10 months for the processing.

I am a resident of Singapore so I think CIC will send my PR application to Singapore VO. Based on the processing time for SG, it is already taking 20 months while applying for WP will only take 2 months. I am just waiting for my police clearance from my home country Philippines and after that I'll proceed to apply for the OWP.

Hi Mohammed,
basically you need to fill the WP application from CIC website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/work.asp

then you need to check about the supporting document required by Ankara VO as you are from Iran and living in Iran too ,
for your 3 years old kid they might ask you to fill the TRV application or might not , that is why I am advising you to check with Ankara Visa Office ,but you need to provide some documnets like the Birth cirtificate for the family members and marriage contract
