We have a similar situation.
Dont worry as far as you have applied for a work permit you are in implied status and can continue working. But for us as I am the main applicant, when my husband applied they gave him a work permit with the expiration date as me and because I had only 2 months left theygave him only 2 months permit! Now we have to apply again for both.

I am the main PNP applicant and My husband applied for open work permit when we first arrived to canada ..his work permit has expiration date according to his passport expiry date ..we renewed the passport and applied for WP extension 2 months ago but till now no news about the new WP..his current WP expired 2 days ago ..anybody has a clue what should we do here ..this is very critical situation ..appreciate your thoughts and comments

Your husband is now on "Implied Status" which means he can legally live in Canada till a decision is made on his OWP application. However, as per my knowledge, he cannot work. Please write an email to CIC and reconfirm. May Allah make things easy for you and all those who are still waiting for PR.

Thanks Nio and wak009 ..actually I called cic today and the confirmed what you said about 'implied status' and also they confirmed that my husband can resume working till his new WP gets approved

I did my landing on 18th June 2015 via Rainbow Bridge, Niagara Falls. The officer didn't ask for anything. They just read the address and ask me to confirm (verbally) whether the address is correct. No proof of address or funds or anything else was asked.

BUt this is only my case. It might differ from person to person. Just to be on the safe side, take all the documents that you have. I took a bag full of documents too.

I have bad news.
They rejected my application without mentioning any reason . Just said your nomination certifocation withdrawed.
I didnt have Ielts or other issues.
I need your opinions.

They said ontario withdrawed your nomination and so you dont meet the requirements.I didnt received anything from ontario before and in my gcms mentined in Nov. 2014 my nominationn accepted!!

They dont think that after 2 years you loose every connection to your home country, your job,your home ... simply someone says you are not eligible anymore after 2 years of fighting to find a job and my son at school. At least a reason for that.What should I do?

Nioo ..you still have other options ..try writing a letter to the prime minister Stephen Harper also if you have been working in a full time job for the last year ..you can apply under experience program ..but do not give up

For qa I asked for sending docs on July 2014 and then in Feb I asked 5 questions. I told them that I want to stay in Ontario as all my family are here and intend to buy a house and work here. After that I had no news from them. My Ielts was 7 and
