I am planning to apply for OWP just need to know the process for me, my wife and my 8 yrs old kid. Do i need to apply for OWP for me and for my dependents TRV can you please confirm. I am confused as there is no proper documentation.

Which forms submit for minor children(9,11)? and how much fees for minor children. Because I got back my application stated that missing forms for minor children & incorrect fee for children. Btw I paid $150 for each child. pls. help me.

you have to fill study permit forms for your minor children and the fees is 9164 rupees and you have to pay that amount in standered charter bank.Hope this help you

Best approach from my experience is to Apply for OWP for yourself and wife and Apply for Study permit for your kid. All 3 in one shot.
I dont have much info on Study permit though. Take all the forms from VFS links if u r planning to use the services of VFS.
Forms are getting changed every couple of months so better to download all forms fresh

I got the work permit for two years and temporary visa for two years. The expiry date is after two years. it is too cold in winnipeg, thats why postponed to visit little.

Following are various Options, Let's see which one is applicable to yours case.


1. If you have ever applied for Canadian visa then u have a UCI, then Check your PR Application Status online using Unique Client ID. Just in case they sent an e-mail and that mail was sent to a wrong address or not delivered to you due to any xyz reasons. If you can see your application then you might get a sigh of relief that your application is in the system.

2. If you filled Use Of A Representative form with your PR application , then although you have given your e-mail ID in the Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008] but CIC sends AOR to the e-mail ID mentioned in the Use Of A Representative form. So contact your Representative for this e-mail copy.

3. Search your mail box for following two address in case mails are delivered to spam folder , CIO NS sends e-mails from these two ID's One mail from each mail id:

Client-update-mise-a-jour @ cic.gc.ca

Centralized-Intake-Office @ cic.gc.ca

Remove Space before and after @ sign .

4. Contact CIO NS Office to check if they recieved your application and then what happened with that application , if u wanna then u can send an e-mail to

CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry @ cic.gc.ca

Remove Space before and after @ sign .


Now Regarding your Open WP Application:

As per my knowledge following Information is applicable to Ontario PNP:
As far as I understand the expiry date of PNP Nomination Certificate does not have any link with your Open Work Permit Support Letter validity . But your application for PR must reach CIO Nova Scotia before the expiry date of your PNP certificate. So even if your PNP Nomination Certificate Expires you are good to apply for WP application. Read your Letter of Support and its Covering letter properly. This is just my understanding but to be very sure , clear this doubt and call Opportunities Ontario Office.

5. Regarding the WP, I read my letter again and this is what is written:

"You can submit your application for a temporary work permit at anytime while your permanent residence application is being processed."

This matches your understanding. For any reply from them, I'll update this group again.

Hi Kia, you mentioned in your timeline -- Med Delivered: Jan 24. How did you get that info? I had my Med exam last Jan 18 (Manila). I checked my ECAS, still Application Received. Thanks.

Hi Xingyun,

My doctor sent me the tracking number on jan 23rd. Thats how I know it reached Ottawa on 24th and I also got the name of the officer who accepted it through the tracking number. You should ask your doctor for one too. Dont worry your status will change too.

No, an expired nominee certificate will not affect your application for a work permit. The validity period on the nomination certificate is for the purpose of submitting the PR application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). It implies that PR application must be submitted to CIC for processing within the validity period. You just need to submit a copy of the Work Permit Support Letter provided by Opportunities Ontario and any other required documentation for a work permit application. You can also provide a copy of your nomination certificate in your work permit application just to remind the visa office that you are a Provincial nominee and your original certificate was enclosed in your PR application. You do not need an extension of the expiry date of your nominee certificate just for the purpose of work permit application.
