Hi All;
Did anyone get open work permit and Temporary residence visa?
How long is the visa duration?
Did they provide you with a letter for work permit issuance? if yes ... is there is an expiry date for that letter?

I got the work permit for two years and temporary visa for two years. The expiry date is after two years. it is too cold in winnipeg, thats why postponed to visit little.

Has anyone from this forum chose CHC Sydney, Australia as the local VO?

It's been almost two months since I received my 2nd AOR email confirming that the local VO already received my application. I received my first AOR from CIO Sydney, NS last November 27.

I'm a bit worried :'( as my current VO's quota for PNP application is only 80 for 2012 whilst my home country's VO has 8,000.

Although it shows that Sydney, Australia has a processing time of 9 months for PNP I just thought it would take longer than 9 months if the quota is already filled.

I was hoping to get an idea of the number of applicant at Sydney, Australia.

Friends Today, I received a Cheque from CIC ( CAD$ 1100 ) Which is Fees Refund of my Previous Application Which is Terminated Due to Jobs, Growth and Long-term Prosperity Act that became law on June 29, 2012. ( Simplified Application Process ).

I can imagine what is your next question , So the Reply is : I filled Online PDF form and Sent that to CIC for fees Refund for Pre Feb 2008 FSW Cases in Nov 2012 and I got this Cheque after 3.5 months.

I'm still worried because I have not received my AOR. Any one here having the same issue as mine?

--> already 3 months from the date CIO received my application
--> already 50 days from the date CIO charged my credit card

Also, I have another problem. My nomination certificate is expiring on March 22, 2013 and I still cannot apply for OWP because of this requirement for the passport:

Copy of valid passport or travel document. Your passport must:

•be valid for the duration of your stay as a visa cannot be issued beyond the validity of your passport


My husband's passport is expiring on June 2014 and I heard the OWP is valid for two years.

So now, I'm waiting for the appointment of my husband to renew his passport. Hopefully, we'll get the renewed passport by May 2013. Will apply for OWP after that.

On this note, am I correct to say that I cannot use the certificate anymore after it expired? Oh no!

Which forms submit for minor children(9,11)? and how much fees for minor children. Because I got back my application stated that missing forms for minor children & incorrect fee for children. Btw I paid $150 for each child. pls. help me.

Drop email to your local Visa office ,may be ur email is misplaced or not delivered to u. but your file is transfer to Local VO...also try to call them...

Y'day I received a mail containing information regarding UCI, Application Number & Fees confirmation.
This was w.r.t. my PR applicable applied on 30-Jan-13.

Now they will forward application to local VO which is NDVO.

This mail was from Centralized-Intake-Office @ cic.gc.ca.

Submit your doc through Fedex, they will guide you all about your missing doc and also they will submit your doc to islamabad

Following are various Options, Let's see which one is applicable to yours case.


1. If you have ever applied for Canadian visa then u have a UCI, then Check your PR Application Status online using Unique Client ID. Just in case they sent an e-mail and that mail was sent to a wrong address or not delivered to you due to any xyz reasons. If you can see your application then you might get a sigh of relief that your application is in the system.

2. If you filled Use Of A Representative form with your PR application , then although you have given your e-mail ID in the Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008] but CIC sends AOR to the e-mail ID mentioned in the Use Of A Representative form. So contact your Representative for this e-mail copy.

3. Search your mail box for following two address in case mails are delivered to spam folder , CIO NS sends e-mails from these two ID's One mail from each mail id:

Client-update-mise-a-jour @ cic.gc.ca

Centralized-Intake-Office @ cic.gc.ca

Remove Space before and after @ sign .

4. Contact CIO NS Office to check if they recieved your application and then what happened with that application , if u wanna then u can send an e-mail to

CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry @ cic.gc.ca

Remove Space before and after @ sign .


Now Regarding your Open WP Application:

As per my knowledge following Information is applicable to Ontario PNP:
As far as I understand the expiry date of PNP Nomination Certificate does not have any link with your Open Work Permit Support Letter validity . But your application for PR must reach CIO Nova Scotia before the expiry date of your PNP certificate. So even if your PNP Nomination Certificate Expires you are good to apply for WP application. Read your Letter of Support and its Covering letter properly. This is just my understanding but to be very sure , clear this doubt and call Opportunities Ontario Office.
