Hello all,

My Express Entry Profile Effective Date is 19-December-2015 and my score is 407.
IELTS Overall Band 8.0 (Listening 8.5; Reading 7.5; Writing 7.5; Speaking 8.0) + CRS - (Human Capital Age 95) + (Human Capital - Level of Education 112) + (Human Capital - First Official Language Proficiency 125).

On 23-December-2015 I received a letter of interest from Ontario.

Should I apply for the nomination?

Hi All,

In guide its mentioned that for foreign degrees, only ECA is required.

I am getting confused by the thread. For foreign degrees, do we really need to get degrees certified as-well? Why so? It's clearly mentioned in guide that certified copies of degrees are needed from graduates from Canadian Universities.

Am I missing something here?

Yes. I know a person who had a foreign degree and he submitted his ECA report and his degree certificate - without attestation. He has got nomination. So, go ahead with it.

Of course you can apply.

Here is the link to the application guide - Everything you need to know is in here -

Thanks @ rajkamalmohanram for your quick response and sharing the relevant link!

Just to add further clarity to my query - will applying for provincial nomination yield any additional advantage to me? Considering the "407" score ?

Are these invites computer generated or selected by authorities on case to case basis ?

The only purpose you are applying for a nomination is to get those 600 points and consequently get an ITA.

I think the PT s are sent out by a software. When you submit your application, all documents will be reviewed by a human.

Thanks Rajkamal.

I will attach the degree. Do we need to attach trancripts as-well?

No. Just the ECA report (not the online copy; the one you received by snail mail) and your degree certificate will suffice.

Ontario might request you to order a duplicate copy from WES or whatever organization to chose to do your ECA and have it sent to them directly.

I got engaged in September 2013 with a Canadian National. Thereafter, in December 2014, I applied under the Federal Skilled Worker program but unfortunately got rejected due to incomplete application. After that I applied a student visa for a advanced diploma from Humber college, but didn't disclose my engaged status. My plan was to land there and marry her there and apply for the inland spousal visa, but they also rejected the student visa stating that they are not satisfied that I will return. Now, I have received my PT notification form Ontario and in order to prove my ties I'm disclosing that I'm engaged to a Canadian citizen since 2013 who lives in Ontario.

My question is will this count as a misrepresentation?? Please help.

Your past rejections might not necessarily affect your current application. You must disclose the previous rejections in your post ITA e-APR.

IMO, I don't think this will be an issue. You can take opinions from other members too!

Thanks Rajkamal,

One last question:-

The guide says Copy of the ECA Report. I am attaching a colored copy so that the original is with me. The gudie states that send only "copies"

I believe its ok. Many people wouldve submitted the ECA copy and not the original letter. Right?

Yea I meant to say that only. A photocopy of the hard copy of the ECA report you received from WES through snail mail.

See many people think (even I used to think) that both the online version of the ECA report AND the hard copy that you receive from WES are the same. No, they are not. The hard copy that you receive has a WES seal towards the bottom of the page and the online copy DOES NOT have it.

I speculate that Ontario is asking for copies to be sent to them directly from WES because applicants are submitting prints of the online copy that does not contain the WES seal. This is only my speculation and I could be wrong.
