2 options.

1. Create a fresh GCKey and then a fresh MyCIC profile. Deactivate the job bank profile and change the email id to some other email id. Then create a new Job bank profile with that old email id and link it to MyCIC profile. Confirm that your MyCIC profile and Job Bank profile are both active and then withdraw the old MyCIC profile.

2. Use the old GCKey and withdraw the existing MyCIC profile. Create a fresh MyCIC profile again using same GCKey. Deactivate the job bank profile and change the email id to some other email id. Then create a new Job bank profile with that old email id and link it to MyCIC profile. Confirm that your new MyCIC profile and Job Bank profile are both active.

Option 1 is slightly better because it doesn't affect your existing profile while you experiment with another profile.

All the best!
Thanks so much Asivad Anac, so helpful!!!!

Hi. I got my fswp app last year returned due to lack of full details on reference letter. I did not mention it in the oopnp app because there is no file number, no visa processing centre etc. All I got was a uci number by calling them to check for status so I only mentioned the UCI in the oopnp form.
Thanks a lot!

Does anyone know that for CANADIAN work experience, do the reference letters need to be ORIGINAL or PHOTOCOPY?

Thank you!

The Application Guide says that copies need to be produced. Refer Pg 8/9.

Hi there, would anyone know information about regulated professions in Ontario? I'm planning to submit everything but I don't have license to practice yet in Ontario. I fall under FSW. 1500 CAD is a big deal and this is making me ambivalent

You don't have to be worried just because your NOC is on the regulated professions list. There are certain occupations within the NOC which are regulated while others aren't.

For instance, professional Engineering is regulated in Ontario. But that doesn't mean that everyone with an Engineering degree or everyone working under an Engineering NOC 2173 (Software Engineers and Designers) would require a licence.

Only those who are granted the “professional engineer” licence have the right to practise professional engineering in Ontario. In Ontario, you can only get your licence from the occupational regulatory body for engineers, The Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).

Not all engineering graduates in Ontario are professional engineers. A professional engineer must satisfy the requirements set by PEO to earn a licence. However, you can work in engineering without a licence, if a professional engineer supervises and takes responsibility for your work.

Hope that clarifies. All the best!

Can we send Demand Draft instead of Bank draft in favor of Ontario Minister of Finance?

Dear VIP, Champion, Hero, and Star Members, I would highly appreciate your responses to a few of my questions below. Apologies for mixing up the content. My CRS is 442 and might reach 452 after spouse ECA. I am also contemplating to take TEF (test d'evaluation francais) and hope to get above average grades due to my five years of experience from MS+PHD from France although 10 years ago! Are there any hopes for ITA in the next couple of months as CRS will reduce at September end due to ageing ;)

1) For POF I need approx. 10L INR for which I have 2.5L in bank1, 4L in bank2, 2L invested in different funds (readily transferable). I can get fund statement on official letters easily. Now, I have 11.5L in Employee Provident Fund (well known financial institution for time deposits) accumulated during last four years and untouched. Regarding its liquidity Government of India mandates that after 60 days of resigning from an organization all funds can be transferred to a bank account. I can well manage with this as I will resign the moment I am sure about visa stamping. I know there is a trade-off since I do not have sufficient funds in bank accounts and EPF might not be acceptable to all. The EPF guy can stamp and certify the online account statements. What do you guys advise?

2) I can get the reference letter as required by OOPNP from the current employer with whom I have now approx. 5 years experience. It is nearly impossible to take a similar reference letter from previous employer from whom I only have an experience certificate mentioning my period of employment and position. I also have contract, all pay slips, and form 16 (proof of income tax paid). I am still trying it but what do you suggest if I eventually fail?

3) All those who were born before January 26th 1989 can use their high school certificate as a authentic and legitimate DOB certificate. Also, I have an affidavit for this. I was born in 1978 in Varanasi and there is no registration of birth done at that time. So getting a birth certificate from there is just out of question. What should I do?

I would highly appreciate some quick responses from all the senior members as these are the issues which seems to be obstacles in OOPNP roadmap. THX

Should be fine in my opinion - DDs are virtually indistinguishable from cash and work pretty much the same way as a bank draft. Try getting your bank to agree on a bank draft else opt for this.

Funds in the bank are the only guaranteed success as POF. And that is an ironclad guarantee because CIC explicitly says so. Inclusion of other investment into POF is the stuff of successful posts on this forum going back nearly 6 years with some member citing a mail from CIC as evidence. The same mail also states that property/vehicle/jewelry valuations can be considered and such outrageous claims. It may work and it may not - you decide if it's worth the risk.

My recommendation would be to figure out how to get those 10L INR into your bank account(s) and maybe put them in a deposit or something if you're upset about the money not making more money and just lying around getting devalued on account of inflation. And keep it there till you get your PR.

You don't have to provide your complete work history to either OOPNP or CIC. From Pg 8 of OOPNP Application Guide,

Copies of employment reference letters from previous/current employers for all periods of work stated in the application

Basic eligibility is met by 1 year of experience. CRS score maxes out at 3 years of experience. FSW points max out at 6+ or more years of experience (15 points). I recommend you leave out your previous work history from the OOPNP application. You can do this provided you are able to get 67 points on the FSWP 100 points grid with just 13 points on work experience (4-5 years) instead of the 15 you would get by including previous work experience also. If you reach 67/100 without that experience, all that effort isn't worth getting those 2 additional points which will add nothing to your application.

3) All those who were born before January 26th 1989 can use their high school certificate as a authentic and legitimate DOB certificate. Also, I have an affidavit for this. Exactly what the Application Guide states on Pg 14.

Provide a copy of your birth certificate or an acceptable national document where an original birth certificate is not available (i.e., letter from appropriate government authority indicating why your birth certificate is not available).

I have been staying in Canada since 2011. (student + worker), but have visited USA a couple of times.
In the OOPNP application, what should i include in the 'list any visits you have made to Canada in the last ten years' section?
Do i have to put in the dates of my passport stamps of entry to canada or should i just enter 3.75 years ?
Please help...

1. I am unsure the position of OOPNP on your Provident Fund.

2. OOPNP needs to know the job duties of your occupations to matchbyoir duties with NOC codes. If unavailable, you may take affidavit to prove your job duties although it is up to the officer to believe in your affidavit or not.

3. The application guide states that you will need some sort of documents proving to them that you could not have birth certificate and thus use alternative means to sgow your birth.
