Has anyone here managed to get a discount on the premiums in Ontario by proving past insurance claim free from other countries?
I know in Alberta you must prove to them your Bonus Malus and they will give you a discount of up to 40% on their premiums.
I am sure Ontario has something similar but not as good as Alberta.

If anyone here did it could you pls reply?

Thanking you in advance

Thank you for the reply!
I am sure there would be other members here who managed that. A friend of mine arrived in Ontario (Niagara Falls) Last year and he did manage to get a discount.

Lets see

Hi guys,

I assume all you guys live either in Toronto or Vancouver. Are these Toronto prices? No? I pay like $110 per month for full coverage on a new car. I drove for decades and have a clean driving record. I heard some young drivers in my city which is close to Toronto pay like $160 per month.

I live in markham, insurance here is crazy. My friend lives in Gatinue, just outside ottawa, she pays $60 for full coverage. But i was happy with the 189 because other companies were offering 290 to like 350 per month.

I assume you are a new immigrant and just got a CA driver's license. No?

It depends a lot on what type of driver's license you have and your driving record. I have a G with many yrs of clean driving record in the US and in Canada.

Anyone here living in Toronto with a G with several yrs of clean CA driving record who don't drive a car model that has a high insurance premium? Please post your price.

Whenever I visit Toronto, I witness at least two or three car crashes a day. Accidents are made to happen due to the poor design of roads, which explains the high insurance premiums in Toronto. Guess who makes all the money? The money-crazy Canadian government, which doesn't spend a dime on the poor infrastructure but collects high taxes. So many pedestrians and cyclists are killed in Toronto. Toronto is one ugly f--king big city I have ever seen. You'll understand what I am saying if you have ever been to Manhattan.

The roads in my city (which is listed by one of the best cities to live in Canada) are so f--king terrible. It's summer but there are still so many potholes, uneven and cracked and patched pavements that drive you nuts. There's no reason to drive a nice car in Canada. The only reason I bought a new car is my move to the US in the near future.

No, you are wrong. In Metro Vancouver, there's reason to drive nice car (I mean really nice car: Lamborghinis, high-end Mercedes and Aston Martins):

Who said the Canadian government doesn't spend a dime on infrastructure? Look at Canada Line, Evergreen Line and Port Mann Bridge in Metro Vancouver. Maybe it's only your municipality government and the government of Ontario who doesn't spend money on infrastructure.
