Unfortunately there are very less. I am still negotiating with the company to allow me to work from Calgary as they have some remote work arrangement but most of the HQs lie in Toronto.

Mods, Are you in Calgary? Can you tell me which financial firms are there in the region? Like you I am also into finance IT.

I second VA2CA. I am in IT and have been working in Financial Industry for like 10 years. I did the same thing and got three offers so far and just in the process of choosing one. I felt Canadians do welcome US experience and they dont discriminate you as long as you are fit for this position.

Everything else is pure rumours. If you are confident and your skillset / exp matches with the requirement you are there. One thing to keep in mind you may not get the same salary as you would be getting in areas like NY etc but that is something we all were aware of long time back.

That's true I got an offer from an IT Company working for Canada Rail it was not in Finance. I also got one from a company HQed in Toronto which is in Finance and I am working out some details with them to see if I can work from their Calgary branch

I sent a mail to buffalo enquiring about my status and in the ack got to know that they are not working this week... they want to clear all the backlogs.... does this mean we are getting PPRs next week monday..??
