I have ordered CAIPS notes, which I expect to receive in about 3-4 weeks time; maybe that will give us some indication.

I am a little conflicted about sending them repeat enquires, because mine is not an isolated case. All of us seem to be in the same boat.

So you suggest contacting or not contacting? as you said all of us are in the same boat. My file is in NY office

I am just hoping that the lawyer would be directly in contact with the consular officer or ambassador or something regarding the delays.

I do not know the extent of their reach, but I hope atleast to find the reason behind the delay. I will keep you posted.

If you're file is in New York, I would suggest you wait. There is definetely hope unlike us Buffalo folks. NY will get back to you sooner or later.

why do you think there is hope for me and not for the ones in buffalo?

Because there are some of us who have been on this forum a long while, and we have seen just a couple of pprs (maybe even one) after we received our Intial Assessment letters; there's absolutely no sign of progress. For most of us its already been six months or beyond since our medicals.

For those whose files have been transferred, there are signs of progress, albeit some consulates maybe a little slower than the others.

I meant you need to come back to U.S. within 30 days if you plan to use AVR (automatic visa revalitation) and not to apply a new visa coming back to U.S. If you have an Alberta address, you can apply SIN immediately, they will give you the number first and then mail your card later. To apply health insurance you need proof of residence such as utility bills and bank statement. If you rent an apartment and stay, you can do all these with no problem, just a matter of coming back to U.S.

What do u mean by "it has to be within 30 days"???? In Alberta i guess they issue SIN immediately correct?? do they mail the card later?? What about Health Insurance?? I heard we have to be there 3months b4 we are eligible to apply is this true?

I see what you mean. Even i completed my medicals more than 6 months ago. Not sure when will I get the ppr. I guess better not to contact them, it will come when it has to come.

What should we do? file stuck at buffalo.

Joseph...Looking at your timeline, there's a big chance your file will get transferred. They still don't seem to have gotten to yours yet.

Its a copy of your file. Gives you details of your file, your file bring forward date, decisions made so far, if any etc.
