medicals in July end

My medicals were received on July 2nd, and file transferred on on Oct 19. Based on recent file transfers, you may hear something in next 2-3 weeks or sooner.

My medical reached Ottawa Late August. Nothing happened to me so far.

is there anyone (July-Aug medicals ) whose file has NOT been transferred to local consulates ..... it seems like everyone is getting file transfer! No news my side so worried....

I don't think files of all folks who sent Meds in July have been transferred. My Meds was sent end-July and my file is still under process in Buffalo and not been transferred.

My file has been transferred to Detroit. It will be one year in January since I submitted my CIC application. In order to avoid further delays, I am ordering another FBI clearance. I am in Southern Illinois. If anyone has done fingerprinting in IL or MO, please let me know. Also, please let me know how the live finger scan works? I didn't see any instructions on FBI website.

Your drivers licence should be enough. It has your photo id, date of birth and social.

My file has not been transferred how ever they have updated my online status to "Medical received"

Thanks,

well I live in the same area so I have IL id. but I dont think It will matter If you have out of state ID.
you get your fingure prints done at any of the police stations.
all you have to do is show up there and tell them the reason for fingure prints, you will have to pay right you dont have to bring the blank cards either they will provide the cards and get your fingure prints in 15 mins.
I think If you dont have to come to Edwardsville Police station for this you can go to your town ploice station whereever you live in Southern IL.

Please note I am quoting Cchabert. This is coz. I consider his reply valid and useful too.

1. They do look for an Alberta address. Do they know its a law office - No. Do they check - No. Will they ask whose address this is - Yes. Do you have to tell them its not a residence - I Doubt. I will not tell them so. An address in Alberta is not to mail your PR cards. Its to prove beyond reasonable doubt you have intentions to LIVE in Alberta. In a general sense, I do not think you can live off a law office. I would consider another address or consider not spelling out its a law office.

2. Yes and Only if the officer asks you. Tell them you will have to close your shop in the US and move permanently next month. I quoted 6 months and was looked at pretty abnormally.

3. No more docs. They did not check for my proof of funds. They asked me how much of a cashier's check I was carrying. I carried a cashier's check for about 15k USD. I did not carry proof of funds. To me, the cashier's check is clearly a better synonym for funds.

4. I just printed a sheet of paper on MS Word and took it with me. I did not use CIC's forms.

5. No.

Cheers and G luk.

1.-You can provide the address later, they'll give you a form to send with the address

2.- Many do that

3.- Bank statement showing all your funds

4.- Yes you do and the forms are:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-border.asp

http://www.cbsa.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/b4-eng.pdf

5.- I didn't do it but maybe is a new requirement, better safe so bring it with you ready

Peace

Thanks everyone for replies!! it was the relief to know that i am not the only one who has not received mail regarding file transfer(july-aug medicals) & there are still many of us waiting to hear from CIC after medicals. Hope we hear something good soon :)
