Hey Guys,

Here is my situation. Recently my marriage is fixed with US Permanent Resident ( US citizen in March 2011) to be held in Dec. I applied as single and expect for PPR in Jan 2011 or later. I heard that when you are married You need to contact CIC before submitting yr passport abt addition of family member and then they will send out her medical request or PCC request. Is it correct?
Thanks

But, what happens after the passport is stamped? CIC mails passports to only addresses in US or Canada. So, you still need to find a representative in the US or Canada, who will bring it back to you.

Hi

I just wanted to update that mine and family's medical forms have reached Ottawa today Sept 15th .

Lettuce_Tomatoes

Even though I got AOR two weeks before you :) looks like now both of us are on same timeline ( If i remember correctly your medicals reached on Sep 12th ) .Good luck to you as well man.

Now I guess it is time to wait . Hopefully some of the June/July medicals folks get their PPR reqests soon. Praying that the quota does not run out this year before december.

Hello folks, Here is a small note I thought may be useful.

My situation: I landed on Jul 4 and have not received my PR cards yet, at the address I provided CBSA during landing.

What did I do: Went to cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/call.asp to call up Canada. It dint work from any phone from the US - Gtalk / Skype / Cell / Regular homephone / Voip like vonage ehmm - no it dint work.

Solution : 1-613-944-4000 - This worked.

Cheers,
Rajesh

Hey Rajesh, Thanks for the info. So did you find out what is the reason for the delay in you receiving the PR cards?

lightsinthemist,

Good luck to you to my friend. My medicals reached on Sept 13. ahhh. now its a waiting game again. But we should be happy that we are still in the game.

If you are lucky, we may go on the lines of Priya86 and email2Kale. They got PPR in less than 50 days.

JosephdeDreamer: what are the developments on yoru side?

Kind Regards,
Lettuce.

I think it is 5000

It is in cicnews .. sorry i was not able to publish a link.

Is this quota applies to nominations or granting PR.?

What will happen, if the quota is reached. Will CIC considers the submitted AINP applications for next year quota..?

Thanks
Lee

This is for Alberta nominations. Most of us on this thread have obtained nomination and sent the application to CIC subsequent to that.
CIC also has a quota for the number of PR visas that can be issued - I am not sure where they stand wrt that reaching a cap.

Getting a little anxious at this point. There has been no progress for passport requests.

Chigirl

Probably they will start sending them in a few weeks...but have to agree it has been quiet for the folks from June-July. I was just wondering what happens if the quota runs out for this year at CIC. Will the applications for this year be rolled over into 2011.I am getting conflicting information on that ,for certain streams like FSW CIC had made them reapply next year in the past ...so just was not sure.
