I had a spelling mistake in my first name. I noticed that day before my medicals. When I discussed that at doc office where I did my medicals, they told me that they get plenty of cases like that and they corrected that on the form. I went ahead with my medicals.

Afterwards, I did send out email as well as fax to Buffalo office with orig passport copies, AINP certificate with correct name but I have not received any response till the date. I will update if I receive anything.

Guys,

I received the medical request last week.
I noticed that there is a spelling mistake on my wife's medical form, her middle name is incorrect, So I faxed a letter to Buffalo office indicating the same as they had mentioned in the instructions. Now I also have the appointment scheduled for medical on 18th aug.
Does any one know how and if Buffalo office will contact me to correct this spelling mistake , will they provide new form , what if they do not reply, should i still continue with the medical.

Also has anyone does medical in florida , can someone share their experience?

Appreciate all the replies..!

I am not sure about it. It depends on the Canadian immigration law.

I know for sure that visitor visa for US is not a dual intent visa. Visitor visa for US is a non-immigrant visa.

But, does Canada follow same immigration policy on it as US? It needs to be researched.

Thanks for your answers guys.

Well, my employer is not going to apply for a visitor visa. They want to apply for work authorization in Ontario since I will be working there for 3 months. But if it will jeopardize my CIC processing (?) , I would probably quit my job and move back to India. Or rather try to convince my company to send me on a project somewhere other than Canada which would be a tough sell.

Go ahead and apply for TWP. You can even get these directly from the embassy in a day. If I understand correctly, as long as you explain the situation openly to the Canadian I.O that you are only going for 3 months temporarily due to current company business then it should not be a problem. Also write an email to C.I.C buffalo with your file # and explain to them the same thing. You'll be surprised how many times things work out if you state your situation straight forward.

Hi Guys - Regarding return envelope for PPR.... Did anyone used USPS's Click-N-Ship option?

I used for the return envolope for passport request & sent it to CIC Buffalo. Want to know if this Will be an issue?

Thanks

All,

I talked to Doctor office who did my Canadian Medical test. They told me that they sent my report to Ottawa via regular mail. Does any one knows how long it takes to reach Ottawa from Kansas State ?

Thanks,

Yes, you do need another visa. Reason being, the current visa what you have in your passport is Visitor visa which though is valid till 2011 but has limitation on stay only as TOURIST. As you have applied for Permanent Residency, you will get a new stamping in the passport as an IMMIGRANT. Till now you can enter Canada as Tourist but after getting the Immigration status you would be entering Canada as Permanent Resident with all rights as of Canadian citizen. Once you get the new IMMIGRANT visa your previous tourist will stand void and cancelled. ::)
