I have been in Canada since 2000. When you live in Canada you still have to complete the landing formalities. There are 2 ways of doing this you can either get an appointment with service Canada which can take easily 2-3 months and they call you for an interview and complete the process or you can just cross the border and come back complete the process in 1 day. Since I hold an American passport its not a big deal for me to cross the border.

Can an American citizen be beneficiary of Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program?

Question about AVR

The visa stamped on my PP expired on 2007. I have valid I-797A. Can I use AVR?
A friend told me that you can use AVR only if your visa expiry is less than a year. I did not find anything on the expiry of the visa.
What do you think?

You can do medicals at any approved CIC doctor. I had my US address on CIC file but I got my medicals done in Bangalore. It was fine. Only thing is make sure all of you (principal & dependents) do medicals at same place.

-DNA

Why to do medicals at same place? Any answer appreciated. Thanks to all.

Hi - I have submitted my CIC application yesterday with all the PCC's except FBI.

I will keep posted on this forum if I hear from CIC further... Thank you

It does not have to be H1b quota. AINP also offers varity of nomination like employee driven stream beside H1b. I think Chintu's file got processed in one of those category.

""This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

CCH, long time no see man!
Canada seems to be treating you well :D

Hey quick question, I just got my "Request for Passports" and am wondering what kinda "Return Envelope" should I send to CIC. They have mentioned that they prefer USPS mail. But ofcourse, I want my "Return Mail" to be tracked. Any suggestions on how this can be done?

Gixxer, Congrats man. What are you planning for the "Return Envelope"?

Karl
