On your blogspot (http://journeytoalberta.blogspot.com), the doc says PR card has validity of 1 or 5 years.
Even the passport request I receievd says my PR Visa would be valid till August 2010.

Is this usual? I heard earlier that we get PR for 5 years always.

This is unbelievable.
Miled my passport to NY (fedex) on monday morining 9:01am.
NY received the passport next day tuesday 9:25am.
Just now 3:25pm thursday received passport back with PR VISA & COPR
God is good.

There is no date mentioned in ecase but i believe it was in oct sometime
here is what ecase says:
We started processing your application on July 24, 2009.
We transferred your application to the New York office on August 18, 2009. The New York office may contact you.
Medical results have been received.

Also,
It looks unlike Nix, I would be getting my PR for only 1 year as mentioned on my passport request letter

What is the expiry date for your PR as written on the visa on your passport?

your PR visa on your passport is valid one year after medical.
So when you land you will be sent a PR card which has 5 years validity.

I have recently received my nomination and have all the documents except the PCC and FBI report.

Can you advise if anybody has sent the application with out PCC and FBI earlier and later on sent the rest of the documents. In the meanwhile I have applied for FBI please share your timelines as to how long does it take?

You can send it without PCC and later send the PCC when available.
In my case I did the same except I was never asked for PCC so never sent it.
But that doesn't mean you should never send it. You must send it later or when asked.

I am sending this documents. Passport, photographs , 455 dollars money order, permanent resident visa authorization form.

can anyone tell me whether i am missing any documents.

Ram,

You have included everything. Check with the letter you have recieved about reqmnt of sending one set of photo seperatly after writing your name on the back side.
Can you tell me what is written on 1st page of your passport request letter towards very end...I mean what is the expiry date of your visa.

12/16/08 - Received invitation to apply
12/24/08 - Mailed app. package to AINP
12/31/08 - AINP received app. package (UPS confirmation)
02/20/09 - Received file number (587)
05/30/09- Received nomination(dated May 4th)
8/17/09- send nomination to Buffalo
9/7/09 - transferred to NY
12/17/09-got Passport request
