hi

I appled in early june to CIC, and my son was born in mid july. I received AOR on the 6th November, and completed my medicals on the 13th november that reached Ottawa on the 2nd Dec. on 22nd november i sent in supporting documents to add my son. within two weeks they returned his original birth certificate, and up to now we have not received documents for his medical.

I am also worried that I will be delayed more since we havent completed his medicals...

do they said why they returned certificate? You case are so close to mine, we both apply June and got med on the same day of Nov. But yours are a little better, they never return things to me. I don't even know whether or no they looked at my document yet.

I received my son's med req just in 2 weeks after I sibmitted all the docs they requested. that too, to India by mail. I think that was super fast (that was only for that). I cannot comment on whether it will delay the entire process yet...bcos i havent got my ppr yet.
CIC advised to do our medicals first & then do our son's after.... I had to wait bcos, i had to travel to a different city to our med (Coimbatore to Bangalore) and didnt want to travel with my new born then for 2 different times...
below is my timeline....hope this helps...

AOR/Med Req............: 28-06-2010
Doc reached CIC to
add my son & address
change (US to India)...: 03-08-2010
Med Req for my son.....: 16-08-2010
Med Done...............: 25-08-2010
Med reached Ottawa...)..: 02-09-2010
Letter from CIC (no addl doc reqd)........: 10-11-2010
CIC advised to do our medicals first? did you get the information from CIC directly? my Lawyer is holding my med request and saying we have to do the med with my son together. if what you saying is correct, I really want to spank the stupid lawyer.

Hi,

Though I have not heard of any case where they ask to redo the medicals, the CIC publication has this information.

If the processing of your application for permanent residence is delayed and we cannot reach a decision about your application before the validity of your medical examination expires, you will be required to do the medical examination again.

Thanks,

It would be very rare for CIC Buffalo ask applicants to do medicals again. It might be true for CHC outside the Canada/America. The background processing in US/Canada is speedy compared to other countries outside the American subcontinent. This could cause delays in background check resulting in CIC asking the applicant to redo medicals. CIC does not intentionally delay the process as they understand it is a financial burden for the applicant. US applicants should not have to worry about redoing the medicals especially the PN applicants unless you have lived or travelled to certian countries where it would be difficult to obtain your background checks.

Also I have been saying this right from the begining there would be PPR and case transfers and we have seeen them in the last couple of weeks. Expect to see more in the comming weeks for those who have completed the medicals more than 6 months ago.

Recvd an email this morning, telling my file is transferred to Canadian Consulate General -- Detroit.

I would appreciate if anyone can provide a time-line on how long it takes to receive RRPF & Passport request.

How does Detroit embassy Send Passport or Fee request?? Would it be Via Email or Standard Mail?? I updated my postal address with Buffalo RPC 2 weeks back, i am not sure if it was updated. Would it be a nice idea to send address update to Detroit as well or is it better to wait 90 days ??

Hi All,
I applied for permanent residency in CIC buffalo under AINP program.
Last month my file has been transferred from CIC buffalo to CIC NY.At the time of
applying for permanent residency,my martial status was single and now it has been changed
to married.Due to this,I have some questions related to it.

(a) If I inform NY CIC about my status,do i have to start my PR for my wife right now or
I can start it later on once I got my PR ?

Please advise.

I got my RRPF and Passport request from Detroit after 2 weeks of file transfer from Buffalo via email. Hope this helps.

no nothing they just returned it, there was nothing else in the envelope except the certificate, and my assumption is that because it was an original birth certificate, they returned it. one of the requirement to add a newborn is to send an original birth certificate (which I did, since I had several copies)

to me the return was like an ack for me....but now its high time they send his medical request

but also I read somewhere on this forum of a similar case, everything done except the baby's medical , and it came right before the PPR request.... nothing to do but wait...good luck with yours and do update here if u hear anything.

i dont think its a good idea to wait for the baby's medical and delay your own, i say go ahead and do yours, then you can do the baby's separately when u get the request (like so many have done on this forum)

delaying all the medical for everyone is definitely going to cause delays...

lawyers dont know everything all the time (its just a perception that they do)...

Hey AlbertaGovernor,

I did not receive the PPR email or mail till now despite the fact that my file was transferred to NY office on Dec 2nd. I have seen people whose files were transferred on Dec 14 and they got their PPR on Jan 5. I am not sure how is this possible. Even I am a PNP candidate and my file is complete and no missing docs as far as I know and I also have paid RPRF with the initial application.

And also I have done my medicals more than 6 months ago. Any idea when will I receive the PPR? Also do you think the delay might be because my file is under background check? Is it not that when a file is transferred it implies that the back ground check has been completed. Please shed some light on this.

Dear

I Just received an email from my attorney that my file is transferred to Detroit.
My Medicals Reached Buffalo on Sep 16th 2010.

Hope this info helps people who are waiting.

Hi,

How many of the folks who got PPR or Case Transfered to VO had received a letter from Buffalo stating that the medicals were received and no documents needed?

Thanks,
L.B

Hey Dear_Pnp,

My file was transferred on Oct22, 2010 to NY consulate. I recieved an email to pay Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) on Nov 22, 2010.
I contacted the consulate in December 2010 and I am told that my file is in final stages of review by Immigration officer.
As of today, I am still eagerly waiting to receive PPR.

Hope my timeline helps you understand the approx. time for PPR from NY consulate.

Thanks
