narsanna,

not sure what to tell u ... was ur application under pnp category ?

typically we have seen check getting cashed between 2 - 3 weeks after mailing the applicatio
to cic buffalo in pnp category.. i would suggest u to wait for some more time and keep watching
ur check .. buffalo has always been unpredicatable with time line ... but they should definitely
process it if ur paperwork is all ok ...

I think as time passes more and more people apply making the work load more so every step of the process slows down. I think if your paper work is fine the check will be cashed very soon be cool Narsanna.

congratulation Nix1!

Few days after landing as PNP, can we return to the States to finish the employment contract?

That's a big Yes.
My understanding was we need to present a Canadian address while landing, and it will be to that address they will be mailing the PR card. Is that right?

In that case would we have to be staying in that address until we get the PR card, before returning back to US (if we still have unfinished business in the US).

But how do we get our pr card then?
If we land, and stay in Alberta that is easy to solve..because we will have a valid address there, our home....but if we just land and leave how do we get the card? I've heard it an take 2 months to arrive...and most of us do not have family or friends to help and put their address to solve this for us....

Also...do we apply for the card at the port of entry or few days later (when we want to)?
I ask that, because most of us will be landing at a hotel first, to search for a house after that, so when we land we will not have a real address to send important mail to (since a hotel's address is not a reliable thing to do..)

I think it is a good time for us to start sharing ideas about that...

Thank you all!

I learned in this forum that we can either provide the address for PR card at the port of entry or update in the CIC later. The PR card is no need if you will cross the US border to Canada later.

My concern is that we are PNP, not FSW. Can we return back to the States after landing as we had signed that we want to settle in a Canada state. In my case, I am a PNP through a job offer, can I amend the start day 7 months to work in the US before permanently settle down in Canada. Will they cancel my PR?

Akk:

You don't get PR Card at Port of Entry. You can apply from current Alberta address while you move there. If there is a new address right after moving in Alberta then notify Canada Post and they will forward PR card at new address and later you can update with new address. First You should apply for SIN Card and Alberta Drivers License/Identification card. You don't have to worry about Bank account, just go to HSBC bank's nearest branch in Brazil and Branch people will setup your account in HSBC Canada as per your preference. When you will move to Alberta, you just go to local HSBC's branch and show your CPR (Certificate of Permanent residence), stamped PR Visa and get your checks, ATM card, Debit card right away.
