Hi, dear all,

i have a question about importing a car.
At present time, i do not have one. I am considering to buy a new car before landing. DO you think it is possible?
I heard that the car should be owned for at least six months. Or there is no such requirements for initial settlers?

If it is a must to own it for at least months, what about a second hand one? Same rule?
Nice holiday

indium-sulfide-2,

Not sure if this helps, but I found this answer once.

Hi,

You will have to own it for 6 months. Not sure if its 6 months from landing or actual moving.

Thanks,

Hello Group,

While we wait for the CIC officers to make decisions on our respective PPRs and medical requests, i thought of shaing this fun fact:

It's believed Alberta was the second coldest place on Earth Tuesday Nov. 23 2010

What: Alberta was second coldest place on Earth
When: Nov. 23 2010
source: http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2010/11/24/16290826.html

Dear CIC immigration officers: We would like to join our friends ag_tou, cchabert, Priya86 and others in the land of our dreams, AB Canada soon. Phuleeeez.

Not sure if the spreadsheet is up to date, but just wondering if anyone who applied to CIC during the July/August period has received AOR/medical.

Thx,

Oh yeah it was cold and they didn't mention that also on that day the C-train from north to south on both ways was not working at rush hour in the morning, I was stuck in the station for 1 hour and this one doesn't have heather, it was fun.
Lucky that cold spell is gone and today we were at nicer 3 c .

Cheers!

Medicals after 60 days - Who submitted CIC-AINP(SRS-U.S. Visa Holder Category)

Seniors, please advice....

Got medicals request on Nov 10.We applied CIC when we both were in USA.
Currently i'm in USA and wife is in India.I will go India in March. We both are planning to take medical tests in India.

I have read that if we send medicals after 60days it causes delay in process.

Please advice, is it fine to take tests after 60days in India?

My eCas shows "we started processing your application on Nov. 4, 2010." But I haven't received my AOR/Medical Request. It has been almost one month.

Today eCas added another content as "Your current mailing address is ........" The address is correct, so I don't think the mail will be lost in transit.

I sent an email to CIC buffalo on Nov.15, CIC replied they would not give the application status until the time exceeds 30 weeks. (not 20 weeks as they say on CIC buffalo website.)

What can I do?

Any senior has the similar situation before?

then, how did u get your file #?

i guess, most of them are getting file #, when we receive AOR &/Medical req.

Re: Medicals after 60 days - Who submitted CIC-AINP(SRS-U.S. Visa Holder Category)

In my case, my process is going in Buffalo. I received AOR/Med req after I moved to India. By that time, I had change in family composition.

CIC's advice was to try to complete our medicals first and then do our son's. if we couldnt, then do it as soon as possible after getting the med req of our son's.

as you mentioned there might be some delay. but it wont be that significant as long as you mention the reason in a cover letter.

or why dont you do it in USA & your wife in India now itself?

just my 2 cents...

you can take the medical test anywhere in the world with a DMP. just make sure the DMP sends the results to Ottawa and gives you some sort of tracking number.

one can find the file number on the back of the encashed check.

yeah that happened near sait polytechnic when a transit bus broke down on the ctrain track. tow truck took long time to come so another bus pushed the bus away from the tracks and nortwest train services were restored.
