Wow! Congratulations! I am in same boat as you, could you please share list of all the documents submitted for your mother and for yourself.

Hi All,

I am in the middle of filing for a super visa for my mom who is from Chennai India. I moved to Canada in 2015 on a spouse sponsored PR.

Do we need to prove substantial ties to the home country for my mom?

We don't own property and she is a homemaker. But has a great bank balance/FDs and is financially independent. She has traveled to Dubai in the last 10 years.

I was thinking to prove that she will leave Canada after sometime, if I should I mention that she has a cataract surgery scheduled for later half of 2019. It not an urgent surgery and she has no other health problem. We are not looking to have her come her to be operated on - it much cheaper to do this India :). But will it prove that she will be coming back to India or do you think it can backfire adn make the visa officers think that she might be a burden on the Canadian health system if she is given a supervisa...

Hi

Im doing an online application for my parents and imm5257b_1 says validated but there are no bar codes. Is this normal? The other 5257 application form validated and generated bar codes but not this one. Should I just submit it like that?

Updating on my mom's super visa application today. My mom is the dependent on my dad's application and his status is still at reviewing medicals (see my previous post above)

@Bryanna - I made a mistake on the application - i.e. asking for only a 2 months visit for this time in their super visa application. Do you think from the following assessments they will get a super visa or a visitor visa? I didn't check the forum much for doing their application. They both are retired from govt. jobs and pensioners with their own home+land assets+FD (only submitted their bank statements and short term deposits on the FD maturing this month to show pension proofs). And no travel history. I meet way above the LICO required so I attached my documents for financials plus the health insurance for 1 year. Thank you for all the help, please tell me if you have any inputs?

Either category is possible. We have seen TRVs issued in similar situations.

Not sure if this will work:
You can email the visa office to say you had made a mistake for their visit dates + your parents would like to stay for longer (1+ year) + you meet all eligibility requirements to host your parents on super visas. You'll need to do this asap. You could also submit a copy of this amended invitation letter with their passports

Thank you so much @Bryanna

Do I contact the visa office by IRCC web form? or is there an email ID? My parents are in India (South) and we applied online. Please let me know, thanks again :)

You can do both, but an email would get a faster response. Do include the amended invitation letter as well + a hand signed letter from your parents along the same lines.... with their passport submissions.

You'll need to email the Bangalore visa office

We are still waiting to hear back on my dad's application - medical status remains the same (i.e. We are reviewing the results of your medical exam) and background check for both are not applicable. So my mom submitted her passport.

I did as you mentioned and I will update how it goes. Thanks again :)

Hello, I was going through my father-inlaws document checklist and I don't see an option to upload the proof of upfront medical. Has this been changed recently? I remember when I applied for my mother in law a year ago, there's a spot to upload upfront medical proof.

Only thing that I can think of is, do they not allow upfront medical anymore? Only by request after we submission?

Thanks
