Online TRV Application - Where is it processed?

Hi,

Please could someone assist, I have applied online for the Canadian TRV. Is the entire application processed in Canada or does it at some point get sent to the VO responsible for my area. I applied online as a Cayman Islands resident, Kingston is the VO responsible for my area.

Send an email to KIN office with your case #.

I applied online, send email to KIN and got approve same day email sent.

On the visa it show KIN as issue location, however reading some post here some online applications are process in Canada, CIC web site did say CIC can move application to location with resources to handle them....but i am 80% sure it be process at your visa office of residence.


Are u National of Jamaica ? u may have to travel to KIN to give Bio info

I am a South African citizen residing in the Cayman Islands. This is my second visa application as my previous one expired. Kingston is the VO for the Cayman Islands. I'll email Kingston and see what they say, their processing time is 43 days though so that would put me well within the processing time. I just can't figure out which processing time to use, online in Canada or Kingston.

Keep finger cross KIN will handle it early

Dont used the processing time in Canada...as if KIN handle your case it may be faster..i got mine same day once i send them an email.

Still no response. The CIC website indicates 43 days for Kingston and the Kingston website indicates 20 business days.

Do you know it the days indicated on the CIC website is calendar days or business days?

Just recieved this response from Kingston, so obviously now I know that the VO responsible for your region still processes TRV applications even if they are submitted online. Also that the processing times are based on the numbers on the CIC site specific to the VO. The days mentioned in the dedicated VO website are not accurate.:

I just received an email stating that there is new message in my CIC account. When i checked it was a "Original Passport Request". The letter asks to send the orginal passport as a decision has been made.

happy for u....Online is faster once u let them know u submit application its done pretty fast... u got yours in 2 days after email i got mine same day..i guess December was slow month.....
