Online Status "Open" - VFS Message "Passport Dispatched"

Dear forum members,

My InLaws applied for the Visit Visa in late December 2016. I was able to link the Paper application to the online account. The online status hasn't changed in a while, it still says "OPEN" however today they have received a message (Text Message) stating that the passport has been dispatched and can be picked up.

My question is why the Online status is still shown as "OPEN" even though VFS text message is telling them to pick up the passport. Any thoughts?

As a note, this is for CHC Islamabad, Pakistan.

Systems can take up to 4 weeks to synchronize.

If in 4 weeks it doesn't change you can request an update.

when did you apply ? Means how many days they took to process the application .

The application was submitted via VFS on Dec. 19, 2016. So it is over 30 working days or so. So it seems CHC took their time to process the application.

Is it possible for someone to pickup the passport on behalf of an applicant. Does the applicant needs to write some sorts of a Letter of Authority for picking up Passport?

Consult the VFS location for pickups process. VFS in an independent courier company. So they might have other rules. A simple phone call would suffice. Also don't worry about the status on the website. Pickup the passport, open it to see if the visa was granted or not. A status obviously does not mean anything.
