Hi all,

I've completed the citizenship test on August 7th and was waiting for the rest of the statuses on my application to change to Complete and get the Oath Invitation. However, I got an email today scheduling a citizenship interview with an officer next week (October 28, 2021). I'm not sure what they will ask in this "interview".

My only concern is that the instructions point out that I should have all the original documents from the application with me. But since I'm not in Canada right now, I don't have two of them: the IELTS certificate and a Certificate of Change of Name. I sent them an email asking if that would be a problem, but there is a chance of not hearing back from them before the actual meeting next week.

Has anyone done this interview? What is it about?

I wonder how long was that from your test and the interview invite?

May 2020 Applicant, took my test on September 16, 2021, and updated on September 19th, 2021.
I haven't got any interview but asked for Passport scanned copies on September 18th. Will there be an interview again?

I am part of the August 2018 applicant group. IRCC lost the application somewhere in 2020 (when I logged in, there was no record seen of an application), and then found it and marked as "filed" February 2021. They "reset" the application received at that time. I took the test August 4, 2021 and passed. When I log in, it shows "in progress" for Language skills, Physical Presence, and Prohibitions. English is my only language. I have never left Canada except for 2 weeks holiday a year (maximum) since I came in 2012, so clearly I meet the physical presence requirement. I have neither done anything to fall under being prohibited from the Citizenship Act. I can't get through to IRCC through either phone or web form. I have filled out web form with no responses. I have no idea what to do anymore. But I see on here that others are still moving along with their applications. Anyone have any suggestions?

What do you mean "again"? Did you do any interview with them?

Nope, I haven't got interviewed yet but I read somewhere that one won't be interviewed if passport copies are requested.

Nope, had the 'dubious' distinction of doing the test twice, no dates anywhere in the exam. The questions were really dead simple; ended up finishing the exam in like...5 minutes, lol. Don't stress about it - rather than focus on specific dates, focus on the years those events happened and what happened in those years. I doubt native-born Canadians would recall any of those dates outside of Canada day if asked .

Hello all. My husband and I took the test on June 22nd and we both passed. All items in the online tracker have been "completed" since July 27, but we haven't received the invitation for the oath ceremony yet. I submitted a web form, but got the template response saying our app is in progress. It's now been almost 5 months of waiting for the ceremony. Our app is pretty straightforward, so I don't get the delay. Also, our PR cards expired in July and we didn't extend them as we were hoping we'd have our passports within a month or two from the test. Is anyone in the same boat?

Their target for the oath after DM (in your case July 27) is 4 months, which means your file is still within their target. For some offices the wait may be extended up to 6 months and even more.

Right. If you check ecas (the old tracker), it will probably be decision made. In the new tracker it will remain in progress until after the oath, probably until they dispatch the citizenship certificate.
