Online citizenship test completed, waiting for next steps

when I tried to use a USB camera I realized I wasn't seeing myself when trying to take my own picture and my ID picture. then I disconnected my USB camera and just used the built in camera from my laptop and it worked fine.

No, I used my PC. The camera quality is very good, the same applies to my internet speed.

I suspected because, as I said in another thread, there was this box on my screen (it was possible to move it around) in which I expected to see the feed from my camera but there was nothing being displayed there, it was just a grey box.

Before taking the test, I turned off my VPN, downloaded Chrome and tested whether the camera was working with the browser. Everything was fine on my end.

Up until I was asked to take a picture of a photo ID, the camera was working, but as soon as I entered in "question-answering mode", I noticed that it turned off.

I find it appalling that only after 45 days am I notified that the test was not recorded.

That why I drag the web browser back my screen back to my laptop (I don’t want CIC to think that I am checking another monitor) and continue until the test finish on my lap top screen instead of LG curve monitor. That mean now i am facing laptop webcam now as CIC only can access to laptop webcam.

Do you think above 2 issues looks like Am I cheating for CIC? I am worry although I am not cheating and I don’t want CIC to think cheating also. I am a urgent applicant (app sent on 14-May-2020) and as per the other urgent applicants timeline, suppose to get DM within a week. Today (1-March-2021) already 11 working days and my ECAS still showing in process (I checked 5 mins ago).

Well not very likely. Sometimes the webpage or if the testing page has a script, it can recognize 2 monitors. That being said , if there multiple windows open, it can traced back from session details. However they take multiple stills during the test, possibly to check for change in position or if anything has changed in the room.

When they do reach out, you do have a valid story. And this something that most people have as a setup, once the pandemic started. Laptop cameras don't function always. Just wait for them to reach out. Don't worry too much. This is like any other online test, there are multiple ways to check for plagerisim. You have not done anything wrong at this point.

However, it's is better to have only one screen, one camera, and be seated facing the camera, and have no more 2 to 3 tabs or Windows open.

Also having Gmail open, is understandable, as the test link comes to your email after registration.

Don't worry. It will be just fine.

okay so it’s 2 months now... that’s a long wait.
I did mine on Feb. 2 and it’s still showing “in Process “. I guess I will also wait for 2 months lol.

Yeah it has been super frustrating knowing other applicants from Vancouver heard back in a week or so back in January. Obviously processing times differ case by case, but 80% of the applications received between March 2, 2019 and March 9, 2019 were processed as of last week according to IRCC, so that didn't really help me understand why I was in the rest of the 20%. Anyways, it is what it is. Also, remember that other offices might work at a different pace.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get DM in ECAS after finishing the interview with IRCC? I did my online test on Feb 9 and IRCC interview on Mar 11.
 
About Online test,if the face showed a small part behind the ID,is it Ok?
  • Make sure that only your photo ID and your hand are visible to the webcam (not your face).
