ONLINE APPLICATION (PHILIPPINES)

Hey guys,

I have a question.
I have done my medical on June 12th and I am still waiting for a response from CIC.
My visa office is Manila, Philippines and I applied online.
My question is that, what is the next step after they get my medical, and how long does it take usually to get your student visa and TRV approved, especially if you have to send your passport to a different country (In my case, I live in South Korea and my visa office is in the Philippines)

I am rather anxious because I need to attend an orientation that I've paid on August 13th, and I can't really do anything at this point other than waiting and praying

Any advice from all of you that have been through all these?

@afifahumaria When did you apply online? I applied online as well and I am a resident of the Philippines but haven't got a medical request from CEM yet.

@msladybug Based on the website, the Visa and Immigration Section only has fa number and email address. No telephone number available. Do you think I just call 857-9000? Maybe this is trunkline that connects all departments. If all means of contacting the embassy fails, can I just personally appear in the embassy without an appointment?

Hi! I had the same problem before , try downloading acrobat reader then use internet explorer as as your search page , google chrome will not work... Sending this file from another person wouldnt work... I definitely learned the hard way, figuring this out.. I ever rented out computers at netopia just to open this form.. Kind of time consuming... Goodluck

or update your adobe acrobat reader to the latest version. I think it only works in version 8 or higher.

@msladybug No chance to call the embassy today. Been superbusy with a lot of clients needing veterinary services. Will attempt tomorrow. A friend of mine told me that personal appearance does not work in the embassy. Walk in inquiries are only allowed for Canadian citizens. But I will still try to go to RCBC Plaza on Thurs or Monday next week. I read in the embassy website that usually, the first communication after application is received within 15 days. Sad to say, I'm on my 72nd day today. How about you?

Did anyone from here have his/her medical exams in St. Luke's Medical Ext. Clinic? I am just wondering how can I check if the embassy already have my results. I've been calling St. Luke's clinic but all operators are engaged or line is busy whenever I call.

Hi DocRZ! I sent a letter and an email to CEM just to make sure they receive my follow-up letter in the soonest possible time. I'm almost on my 50th day of waiting. Still no news from CEM nor in MyCIC account. I tried calling them for a follow-up but the phone agent just transferred me to a voice record. haha

@msladybug I called them yesterday. Spoke to the receptionist. She told me that visa officers cannot take calls. Also told me to just wait and follow up on my application after the average handling time. So I have to wait for 2 more weeks... 2 more agonizing weeks...

@msladybug How did that letter to CEM went? Any response on your inquiries? Today marks my 13th week since I applied. Next week I will have all the valid reasons to follow up on my application. Hopefully by next week my application pushes faster than how it's been progressing (if there's even a progress)...
