We sent out our PR application (inland) already (early January) but we still need to fill this form for the one-year pilot OWP.

We need some advice on filling out the form Application to Change Conditions, Extend my Stay or Remain in Canada as a Worker.

My wife currently has a International Experience Work Permit that expires in 6 months. Using this application we would want to change her status to an open work permit correct?

On the application form, we're not sure which to check off (1 or more of the following): a work permit with the same employer, restoration of status as worker, initial work permit with new employer /or temporary resident permit.

Which ones are applicable to her?

Thanks for any advice!!

Just be aware that submitting your OWP, your wife will only get "implied status" as a visitor. IEC does not get the benefit of "implied status" to keep working. The wife would have to quit working on last day of IEC visa date and wait until OWP is granted. If wife were to get OWP before IEC expires then it is a non-issue.

Yes, that is the correct form. Select "initial work permit".

Thanks for the help so far. I have one more question. In the application it asks for details of intended work in Canada, such as: name of employer, address, intended location of employment, job title, duration of expected employment, labour market opinion no.

Should we fill this out with details from her current job in Canada? What if she doesn't have a Labour Market Opinion No.?

Hi Guys, For New Inland Applcants, if we submit the Inland PR with an OWP (from this link : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/extend-worker.asp ), this is considered the one-ear Pilot OWP?

I've read this OWP needs to be sent to Vegreville. But the Inland App is send to Missisaga. We're sending our Application to Missisaga, do they transfer the OWP to Vergreville?

Thanks

do they send out emails when they receive this separated OWP application?
I sent mine on Jan 3rd ish, and I have not been hearing anything. Cant check the status online either.

Does anyone know more details?

You need to send it to Mississauga along with your PR app.

You won't get any email or update, it will just arrive once it's issued. Track the progress here:

Hi guys, got my OWP today :D ! (July 2014 applicant)

hey everyone!

Any idea on how long it will take for us to get the OWP? I know for people who applied for PR after December 22nd it will take 4 months but what about the people who applied for PR before that? I applied for PR in August 2014 and applied for OWP as soon as I saw the news about this pilot program. is it going to be less than 4 months?

thanks

I received my work permit yesterday. They received my PR application in May 2014, and my OWP on September 19, 2014. I guess they're just issuing them as they go along, since many people from 2013 and early 2014 still haven't received theirs. Good luck everyone!

Fantastic news around OWP!

To those who have received theirs, for how long was it issued for? 1year, 2 years?

I believe they are all 2 years.

Two years, or the day the passport expires, whichever is sooner.
