Congrats on getting your OWP. We applied for PR in Dec 2013 and OWP in Feb2014. Called CIC today and they said there is no chronological order that they are following, and then he said my hubby's OWP is in processing...does that mean we'll get it soon?

Do you know when did your friend submitted his OWP app under the piloy program?.. I submitted mine las Jan 19 so far nothing from CIC yet..

I think it was sometime in Jan 2014.

My wife's Visitor's Status Expires in Feb 10th.

as long as we send the PR & OWP before the 10th, we don't have to worry about her status right? -She will get implied Status and they will process both PR and OWP (one-year-pilot).

I'm just confused as it states that to qualify for the One Year Pilot OWP, you need to have a valid status.

Make sure you don't make any mistakes. If the application is returned, then the implied status is lost. you may not be able to apply for OWP then. so double check the form numbers and everything.

you should extend the visitor status for another 6 months just to be safe.

what mistakes ussually cause the app being returned? - from what I've read is missing forms or Docs... and not paying the fees.

everything else, they just request later on. I've done the Meds, Police Clearance, and Payed all fees.

I've checked it, but obiously will triple check everything again.

the reason I'm sending it this late is because I realized my option C print out was out of date.

Yes as long as you send the inland PR app with OWP app before current status expires, you have implied status. Implied status is valid status.

Even if they return the app for whatever reason, often CIC allows you to fix what was wrong and re-submit the app, without losing implied status. Most apps though are not returned, so IMO I wouldn't bother wasting $100 to extend visitor status. Just make sure all forms are up-to-date and everything is signed where it's supposed to be.

In the off chance app is returned AND they won't let you keep implied status, then you would need to apply for restoration of status before re-submitting, which would cost you $200. But most likely this will not happen.
